  1. Congrats on the interview invite! I also received an invitation for clinical trials. Were you able to schedule in the 26th because I was unable.
  2. From my understanding, you can register to take the NCLEX wherever is the most convenient from you. You can live with your aunt in GA to help increase your placement options; however, they will not place you at any of the Emory hospitals. Those are reserved for on-campus students. You would go to Emory twice for initial and final checkoffs (and in between if they are having trouble placing you).
  3. I believe they accept about 30 students per cohort.
  4. This isn't explicitly stated on their website, but if your GPA shows an upward trend, they may be willing to work with that. Having strong extracurriculars, experience, and even a personal statement would definitely boost your chances. What state do you live in? If they can't place you in your state, that could be a reason you got rejected.
  5. No problem. I hope I reach my 15 in the next 1-2 hours LOL
  6. I know people who have been placed in SC, but it still depends on where you're located.
  7. I applied about a month before the deadline and got my acceptance a couple weeks before orientation. Many students are using GI bill and private loans. National Health Service Corps is an option too. School will keep you pretty busy, but surprisingly there are a few breaks within the program. Finding a job will be no issue. I'm trying to decide where my husband and I plan on live once I graduate. I've heard from previous cohorts that many had multiple job offers before graduation. You can message me on here, but I prefer private communication.
  8. I am willing to PM. I didn't realize that I needed 15 posts...so I'm catching up on that now. You can message me first and I'll respond as soon as it allows me to.
  9. I prefer to respond on an individual basis. My intent is to inform. I don't want to persuade the masses, especially since this only my opinion of the program. I prefer to respond on an individual basis. My intent is to inform. I don't want to persuade the masses, especially since this only my opinion of the program. Keep in mind that they can place you anywhere within a 75 mile radius, regardless of how long the drive will take you.
  10. I saw this thread and couldn't help but to provide what I have experienced during the program. I will be as diplomatic yet honest as possible. I don't want to disparage the school (Emory is an awesome university!). If you have the opportunity to attend an accelerated nursing program in your hometown, do it...event if it's a few months longer. It will save your sanity, trust me. Also, for those who have been told they would hear back in a specific time-frame and still haven't heard, take this as a sign. Lastly, I would take anything they verbally promise you with a grain of salt.... Good luck!
  11. Kayji, thank you for this response! ---------------------------- did a semester by semester GI Bill breakdown for me. Did you apply for scholarships as well? Also, they told me that clinicals could be done in 2-3 week intervals if we have to travel outside the 75 mi radius. I know it's case-by-case, but I just want to make sure I understood them correctly. Last question...not that important, but what type of navy scrubs are we allowed to have? Are jogger pants OK?
  12. I listened to the virtual open house session on their website. My questions are: 1. Are we doing labs and clinicals during the 2 week trip to Atlanta? 2. Do we get a input on where clinicals are done in our hometown? Do they have to be done at the same hospital? When do we start clinicals in the hospital? 3. Besides the 1 week capstone at the end, what NCLEX support do we receive throughout the program? 4. And my last “question” is not really a question. I just want to know what a week looks like for a student in the program, from synchronous class time to studying and clinicals. I waiting for -------------------- to link me up with a student, and hopefully it’s soon since orientation is next week. I emailed ------------------- and she gave me a semester breakdown since I’m using GI Bill. She has been really responsive. ------------------------- has also been very helpful.
  13. Has anyone been able to talk to a previous/current student in the program? I have a few more questions before I put down the deposit.
  14. I received the acceptance today. I received an email saying there was an update in my application portal NOT OPUS. The acceptance letter was there. They actually called me yesterday while I was at work to discuss my transcripts and living situation. It’s was basically an impromptu, informal interview.
  15. Hi all! I was just accepted into the program. My application was submitted on October 8. I believe the only reason I got a response is because I emailed them every 2 weeks. Plus I’m a veteran and my husband is active duty. He’s currently on orders to California and I needed to know whether I not I should stay in Maryland (since they can’t set up rotations in California). How are you all paying for the programs? I see they have scholarship opportunities on their webpage but nothing sees up to date. Congrats to all others who were accepted!
