Emory applicant for 2011

Published

Greetings everyone:

I just sent in my application for Emory University for next year. I was wondering if anyone else has applied or are planning to apply. Currently, I am taking classes at GPC. I would love to start a little support group. If anyone is a student at Emory and would like to offer some advice it would be much appreciated too. Good luck everyone!

@hereicome. Do you have a bachelor degree from the U.S? Sorry for all the questions.. Emory told me the only times they waive the TOEFL score is if your are a U.S Citizen or if you have a bachelor degree from the U.S... So I don't know what to do now.. I don't know if I should take the test and send the score.. I want Emory to at least review my application! I worked so hard on it. =(

@hlee. No I had my Bachelor's out of US. I had thesame answer when i called, but got a reply to my email the next day that the TOEFL had been waived. You can attarch the Toefl requirements and send a mail explaining your situation.

Better send a mail through your OPUS account under ask OPUS.

My OPUS also said nothing for a long time. However about 1 month ago they updated it to say I had 4 "To-Do's" which 3 of those were completed this Fall. Other than that I haven't seen any other updates. I'm getting sooooo anxious though. They said we would hear back by February 1st and that is less than 1 week away. I can't wait to hear something.

Who told you that we would hear by February 1st. I have been hearing February 15th. I hope you are right. I just want to know now. I feel like we're all just kinda stuck, waiting to plan the next two years of our lives.

@Williamhart1984 Accelerated BSN/MSN applicants will be notified on February 1st. I'm not sure about the BSN or BSN/MSN Segue applicants.

Awesome. Well good luck. The wait is almost over for ya'll then.

So I spoke with someone at Emory today and they said the snow week put them behind and that most likely we wouldn't be receiving notifications on Feb 1st. They are behind about 2 weeks. So the waiting continues....

I turned in my FAFSA information today and was told the same thing. They said they may be able to get the BSN's decisions out on time but wasn't sure. Had anyone else turned in their FAFSA? The wait continues....

Good to know that the BSN decisions may be delayed, but here's hoping they aren't. This waiting part is no fun. I need some exams to distract me.

I turned in my FAFSA as well.

Does anyone know, the Experience Emory day is that geared towards people who have been accepted or those who are just wanting to look at going to Emory?

I'm not sure who it's geared at but I went ahead and signed up for it anyways. It shows up on my OPUS account so I'm assuming it's for both. Did everyone receive a letter from admissions listing what pre-req's you were missing? I got it in the mail today.

I just received a personal call notifying me of my acceptance. The voicemail said that official status will be up on OPUS tomorrow. Good luck all!

My Acceptance letter was available on Opus today and it said the official acceptance was mailed out today and should be coming in the next few days. Good Luck to everyone!
