Emory applicant for 2011

Published

Greetings everyone:

I just sent in my application for Emory University for next year. I was wondering if anyone else has applied or are planning to apply. Currently, I am taking classes at GPC. I would love to start a little support group. If anyone is a student at Emory and would like to offer some advice it would be much appreciated too. Good luck everyone!

Congrats T-Dasha!

When do you all have to notify the school of whether or not you will be attending?

I haven't heard/seen anything about an event on the 24th. Is it posted somewhere?

@oaktown2: I'm not sure of when we have to notify of acceptance. That should be on the official letter that comes in the mail

@hereicome: I believe my GPA was a 3.2 but since I didn't have a stellar GPA I tried to do other things to make my application stand out. Like talk about my interest in becoming a nurse in the military and talk about my experience shadowing a nurse who received her MSN from Emory in the same specialty that I applied for.

Congratulations to everyone who was accepted. Once us BSN applicants find out we should try to all get together for dinner or something to celebrate and meet. That way we'll all know someone on our first day. Hope all is well.

stats for me: undergraduate GPA 3:571. prereqs: 4.0. GRE: 740 quant, 550 qual, 4.0 analytic.

congrats to all of you accepted. I guess the straight BSN pple are still waiting.

Apart frm accelerated, second degree and BSN-MSN seque, has any bsn people heard anything yet?

Is there a link to this event? My voicemail mentioned a day for accepted people to visit on the 24th...

really? I didn't hear anything about the 24th.. I was planning on coming to Atlanta for the 19th.

@T-Dasha - what branch of the military are you hoping to join? I've been looking at the Navy.

@mavejoy3 - I don't think 2nd BSN people have heard. (At least I haven't!) But I believe they said we would hear the 15th. But nothing new has been posted on OPUS for me. Did you receive a letter with outstanding pre-reqs?

oaktown2-thanks,i received to letters from them but none for pre-reqs. Did u mean 1st degree coz this my first degree. i believe it's on the 15th.

I have a question which i have been thinking alot and i've done everything in my efforts.Does late recommendations affect one? coz i turned in everything in time but mayb my recommendator is busy and has turned in.

@ oaktown meant 2 letters. sorry.

@mavejoy3 - Hmm, I was thinking that I didn't receive any letters, but I guess I did when I submitted my application. I'm not actually certain if they consider my pre-reqs complete or not, so I'm curious to see if I receive a letter. The 2nd deg BSN is what I was referring to, but it is treated essentially the same as 1st deg. It is just the BSN with no link to a masters.

@oaktown2: I'm considering the Air Force with the Navy being my 2nd choice.
