Emory ABSN/MSN 2016 Program

Published

Hi everyone,

I thought I would get a thread started for the Emory ABSN/MSN 2016 application cycle. I am going to the information session next Friday, July 24th for the program.

Has anyone else started to get ready for this application cycle?

I applied for Emory for ABSN+MSN on October 6th. Got an email to create OPUS account on Oct 12th and got an email with a link stating that my status has been changed yesterday, Oct 15th. I got waitlisted. Good luck with everyone else! I

I got an email yesterday saying my status had changed and the checklist page said I had been accepted! Mine didn't mention my specialty either, just acceptance to the ABSN+MSN. I'm assuming that means we got the specialty we applied to? For those that have heard back already, does it say anything under your admission decision in OPUS? Mine still says no admission decision available there.

No, my OPUS hasn't been updated, so it doesn't say anything under my admissions decision. I just heard yesterday

Ok I'm confused. This may seem like a stupid question but where do we even put what concentration we're interested in . Was it in the initial part of the application ? I honestly dont remember but I do know there wasn't a space in the check list section. I'm also what is taking so long for my application if everyone else is getting a fast response...

Now that I think about it, I'm not sure if there was a place for our specialty. I've looked at so many different applications I may just be confusing them :banghead: when did you apply?

Oct 8. I still have 2 classes I need to take, but I graduate in the Spring so I have time. Idk whats going on and when I asked when I'd get a decision they told me before December :nailbiting:.. so that can mean anytime. Also what other programs have a Accelerated BSN and MSN programs ? Im not sure where too look . I know UAB has one but it starts in the fall and Columbia has one ... Emory is my number 1 though... This is all so nerve wrecking

I applied on September 27th so maybe they're just behind in applications. They also have absn+msn or graduate entry programs at Seattle University, UPenn, Simmons, MGH, Yale and a few other schools.

SON sent out an email this morning about the record number of applications they received and how it may take 3 weeks or more to receive a decision.

Hi everyone!

I submitted my application on 9/24 and heard that I was accepted on 10/15 for the ABSN+MSN for FNP. I know that lots of people always have questions about stats (GPA, GRE, etc), so I figured that I would share mine :)

Undergrad GPA - 3.21 in Classics (graduated in 2010 and have been working in high tech ever since).

Prereq GPA - 4.0

GRE - 162 verbal, 153 quant, 4.5 for writing

Good luck to everyone!

Hi KayKay210, did your acceptance explicitly state that you were accepted into the FNP specialty? Mine only said "congrats you've been accepted to the Accelerated BSN+MSN...."

Hi ASMS!

just says that I am accepted, doesn't denote specialty, but I would assume that it we are accepted for the ones that we applied for :)

Hi apop1!

I found this site to be super helpful Search the Top Accelerated BSN Nursing Programs. There is another page for MEPNs as well!
