:chuckle I hope I get the opportunity to complain about a grade over 85. ...Hope you're doing well, CRNA!

I'm gonna choke the next person who complains about anything over an 85!

Seriously, that's a wonderful grade.

Good Job!

We finish our semesters about the same time. So, how was it?

Funnie I know you're going to be like these women in my class who think they're stupid for getting a 92! I know you're going to whiz through this stuff.

CRNA- I had to put this countdown to the last day of the 1st semester for some encouragement. I can't believe the last days are finally here! I have changed so much these last few months and that's an experience I would have paid for anytime. I can't wait to see how I will change in the next semesters. What about you? How is it going for you?

The last time I stressed was before I got into the program and I made a pact with myself to not do that during the program--I believe God put me here with a purpose, so I don't have anything to worry about.

I only cried twice this semester, once because my daughter seemed unhappy in her new city, and again when I had to borrow MORE money from my parents.:uhoh3:

I have officially passed clinicals with a satisfactory and I only have three more tests, then four finals. I haven't failed any tests, so I figure if I passed the first time, I'll be able to pass the finals.

Oh, and I have skills CPE's and health assessment CPE, but I've practiced so much on my poor kids, there is no way I'll screw those up!

So, I think I've survived this first semester and I can definately say I've learned A LOT and grown. I can't wait for Adult Health in the Fall.

I have a nurse extern job for the summer on a cardiac floor, so I anticipate learning a lot.

Fun2Care, you'll do great in nursing school and if you didn't already know, I'm so happy for you.:balloons: :balloons:

Face in books, good luck on your finals.

Gotta go now, Foundations test tommorrow.

Good Luck to all.

Sorry for any typos.:uhoh21:

Thanks Allison & CRNA.

(Allison, my family didn't like me much during A&P and Micro. :chuckle Hopefully, I can do good, without stressing out as much! ....I "HAD" to get that A before!!!) :chuckle

Do you all have an extern job for this summer? I don't have any. There is an opportunity for ortho-med-surg at my hospital, but I am not interested. I would like to go to the operating room. :) I am thinking about volunteering there, if they don't have an opening for externs.

We have our last check off today (dressing change) and test 4. tomorrow. Can't wait. :D

HI everyone,

I have been accepted for the Fall at El CEntro, and i need you all to give me some input. They have sent us a notice for a new Pilot programm , they are doing in June. If we want we can start then and take a course called, BAsic Health Profession Skills, 1204. ONce we do , we can actually start our clinicals in the second week of the fall semester, instead of the 7th or 8th week. What do you guys think could be the advantages of this or not. HOw was your first semester going? Would that help me in any way and in what way. Thanks

We didn't have this option. How much does it cost?

If you start clinicals earlier you can get familiar with the unit faster. But you will do PCT stuff only, probably. We had to pass every RN skill before practicing it at the hospital. So, how do you feel about doing PCT work only? Do you have extra time to go to the hospital from the second week? It's hard to decide. I guess it depends on how much extra money/time one has.

I am happy to report that I've finished my skills lab class today. And I am hoping for an A. :biggringi

Question:

Are you guys going to buy something for your clinical instructor and unit RN-s at your hospital? We are thinking about buying a nice card and lots of muffins for the nurses and a nice cake with a giftcard to Mr. M. (I hope he is not reading this :))

:balloons: YAY KATIE!!!!! :balloons:

I got back my major careplan yesterday and I got a 100!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was about to fall out of my chair when I opened it up...I seriously was beginning to feel light-headed.:lol2:

We are done at the hospitals as of yesterday! We got a cake and cards for the nurses and staff who helped us sooo much and gave it to them yesterday. We think we are going to give our teacher flowers and a card...

Mysterious_One: First-CONGRATULATIONS on getting accepted! The hardest part is over ;) I agree with what Katie said about the pilot program thing because I don't see how they would allow you to do actual skills in the hospital without checking off on them first? There may be something there that I don't know about though. If it can get you in and out of clinicals faster then I would do it because you need your full attention for test 3 &4, in my opinion.
