So you were the one that beat me! When I turned mine in just now she said, "you are the second one this morning!" she was really nice which made me happy because they usually aren't so sweet. Maybe now that I am official it's different....

I asked her about the map and she said that they didn't include the maps and they will have more information on locations in November. I asked her where the hospitals were because it mentions to have a list ready for November and she told me to look in the phone book?? I figured I will just figure it out later hehe. She seemed kind of busy...

I thought they were going to Baylor or Parkland but neither of them are mentioned in the letter. Is there a specific list or are y'all getting these names from the draft schedule????

I thought our hosipital list would include different hospitals also. I expected to see Baylor, Parkland, and Presbyterian. Oh well, maybe we have more/different options in the 2nd year. I hope so.

I expected to see more hospitals too. I know in the nursing info packet they have the list of hospitals they work with.

I sent mine in the mail. I was really nervous about it but I don't ever go downtown so I just mailed it. I hope they get it!

Has anyone begun studying those abbreviations? I just made some notecards up and they are pretty much self-explanatory except for the right eye, left eye, and both eyes. I can't seem to make that one make any sense in my head. Anyone have any input??

Has anyone taken a medical terminology course? I know I need to take one and I wish I would have by now. Are there any offered anywhere besides El Centro? Theirs started in September so I missed the opportunity there.

I was writing out tsp. = teaspoon and tbsp. = tablespoon and I was like, "hey I know this crap! What am I doing??" I just assume since it's something we have to learn that it can't possibly be something that easy!! :)

OD: Abbreviation (Latin) for "right eye".

OU: Abbreviation of "each eye".

New JCAHO regs state that these abbreviations should NOT be used anymore - but on occasion you will still see them written by docs. They are supposed to write out Right eye, Left eye or Both eyes.
