i know some of us have received our letters so i was wondering who else i will be making this journey with for the next 2 years.
my name is allison shaffer and it's nice to meet you. i know we will all be close because it's a small group. it would be nice to get to know some of you before november 17. :)
Brianna, Allison, sry to hear about the Hesi, I am already scared thinking , that I have to face this thing come this summer. But you guys are 3rd semester students now. How did the class overall do on the Hesi, was it really hard?
Amy, a while back on one of the threads , I posted the exact reading list, (if you search for it, I'm sure you'll find it). I would post it again, but I cleaned out my papers and I threw that one out, sorry. I don't think it was 1 through 8 exactly, but it's not to far off. It jumps around some and I believe it goes into chapters 21 and 22, legal stuff. But maybe that was for sec week, don't exactly remember.

Yeah, ours went to 8.....including the second week. There was some 'other' chapters as well.
It was 1, 2, 4, 5 & 7 for week 1. Then, 2, 3, 6, 8, 20-22 the second week, along with Kee ch 6. For the third week, it was 23-24, and 48 in P&P.
That's for the 1st test. Then again...I didn't go by the actual syllabus. I went by the 'schedule' that Mrs. J said she didn't make. So, it may be different.
Looks like I have more reading to do. I never did get to read all the kee chapters.... that was 1, 2, 5, 6-7, 10. (6 for the 1st test, the rest for the 2nd).
Iggy as used for test 2 (ch 44, 45, 49 & 50)
The rest is pretty much P&P.
Thanks Fun! I was just about to ask if you used Iggy at all in 1st semester.

Amy,
congrats on your test,
when it comes to Iggy compared to P& P, I actually loved to read Iggy much more than P&P.
I am not sure why they only told us to read for test 2 out of Iggy. Those chapters , if I recall, were actually a little too much over our heads for first semester. I personally later on read the chapters about pain, perioperative and oxygenation and others that correlated to the material covered, and I just loved to read Iggy way better than the boring P&P. For some reason they did not tell us to read those chapters in Iggy, I don't know why, but do what works for you. I personally just could not stand P&P and just read (or more or less skimmed over)it, because I wanted to make sure I covered everything, because in my opinion , the lectures (boring powerpoints) sure did not cover half what was on the tests.

I bought the 2 volume set. I figured it would be easier to carry 1 smaller book at a time around instead of that huge book. The 2 volume set is book 1 Ch. 1-43 and book 2 Ch. 44-80.
