Way to go Katie!

Brie --- don't get discouraged. You are still going forward and not backward and that's all that matters. You are HALF way there - major accomplishment.

Amy

Thanks! It's just a tough situation and kinda frustating... BUT I am half way there!!

i'm sorry i haven't posted in a few days- i went to austin for the weekend and i just got back. my husband and i had been planning to go since the beginning of september and it was perfect timing because i got an 898 on the hesi and we needed a 900. oh well. i've accepted and there's nothing to be sorry about. i will do the case studies and learn what my weaknesses are and go on into 3rd semester. with all of the disappointment from friday- i had forgotten i had made it into 3rd semester! :lol2:

brie- do you have to go to ec on monday at 1p? i'll be there!!!!! :D

you were soooooo close!!!! that's awesome.... at least you have accepted it. i'm still in the process of coping...lol!

unfortunately, i will be at ecc tomorrow at 1pm. this will make the 2nd day that i will have to miss of my wintermester and we have a test on tuesday!!! luckily he drops one test, but it's still annoying! see ya there!!

I'm going to get it just because I heard it was such a good book. I'm not sure which other books we should be buying?? I thought all 3rd semester was MedSurg and cardiac stuff so we should already have all the necessary books right? Have you guys heard of any other required books?

I guess I will buy it, too. :uhoh21:

What about the psych. nursing textbook that is at both NLC and ECC bookstore? I am not sure if there is for 3rd or 4th semester.

Yeah I hope the case studies will go by quickly but I'm also hoping I will actually LEARN from them!!

Our teacher, Branscome, told us the Iggy book would be extremely helpful because she knows that some of the 3rd semester teachers pulled their test questions from that book. They didn't give us the Iggy book in our pack so I guess I will need to get that one too! I will need all the help I can get 3rd semester... I heard it's tougher than 2nd semester!!!! :uhoh3:

Fun,

This Iggy med / surg Katie, Brie, and Allison are talking about....we have this book on our list or in the box, correct?

Also, Ch. 1-8....is that from the Perry & Potter Fundamentals book? Thank you SO much for all your help.

I hope you and your family have a safe trip and a good vacation in sunny FL!

Amy

Allison,

OH! That was too close on the HESI! I would have probably died! I am glad you had a good weekend away with your hubby. Are case studies "care plan" or are they something else?

Yes, Iggy is our Med/Surg book. :)

Ch 1-8 should be good to start with, and yes, in the Potter & Perry.

I think we covered ch. 6 in the pharm book.

It may or may not be the same, but you'll be safe with P&P ch 1-8 I'm sure.:balloons:

Thanks....right now we're making Chex Mix for the trip...:lol2:

Speaking of the Iggy Med / Surg book. For those of you who need this book I should mention there are 2 different "versions" of this book. There is a huge 1 volume book (ISBN # 0721604463) and then there is another version that is a 2 volume set (ISBN# 0721606717). Both "versions" can be ordered through textbooks.com for around $93.00 (new) with FREE shipping and no tax. They also sometimes have them used for cheaper. Both are also available at Amazon.com for $103.00 (no free shipping).
