Wow, I am sure you are going to learn a lot there. :)

I hope so!! I am really excited but I've heard it's a lot more in careplan work because of all of the medications they are usually on in the PICU. I hope it's a good learning experience :D It might even be what I will wind up doing as a real nurse:p

Congrats! That sounds like a great experience...

Katie and Brie - great job on the test!

Allision - good luck to you!

Thank you everyone for your good luck vibes :D I got an 86. My idea of an A is out the window but that's ok because a B is good too! Anything passing sounds good to me right now!

We lost one person on this test. This rule is so STUPID! People are so focused on making a 70 or above that they're losing sight of making a 78 to pass! Some people come out wiping their brow saying WHEW when they make a 74 and their other two grades are 72s. Well when you add those up that's failing (according to El Centro). They would have to do some major making up on these next 2 tests to get a 78 average and I don't think they realize it. I really wish this rule would go out to the trash where it belongs!! We're losing GOOD nurses because of it!

:balloons: Good job Allison. :balloons:

I don't like the new rule either. I am not sure how many people we lost so far. I will probably won't know it because we will go 4 different places for lectures. I actually won't see most of them since I finished clinicals and skills lab, too. But I will get new classmates at Presby. :)

Congrats!!! I knew you would do well and we got the same grade.... lol!!!

I totally feel the same way about the 70 rule!!! We lost some people because of that too, and I feel that they would make awesome nurses! The people that have between a 70-75 will have to do pretty well to make it and my instructor meantioned on Tuesday that if you don't have at least a 74, you may should consider dropping because if you don't bring up your average, you will have a D on your transcript and that effects your chances of getting back in. I'm passing (79), but barely so I am considering leaving because I dont want to mess up my gpa. If I score lower than about a 75, I would have less than a 78. What do you guys think? I need some advise... should I stick it out or try to get back in? I think this next test is going to be difficult. Have you guys started studying? I just don't know where to start this time...:scrying:

Brie,

If I were in your position, I would not drop. You have a very high chance of making a B by making the grades you've made on these last 2 tests. Are you afraid of making a C average or are you afraid of making a D average? You know how the tests are run now and you know how to take them and you've proven that with your last two test scores. I think dropping now would not be the best thing to do because what if you score 86s on the next two tests? You'd be sitting at a B average which is pretty danged good.

You know the material! Why would you want to start this mess all over again? I would be too worried about the "what ifs" if I were to drop in your situation.

Start studying as soon as you get home in the evenings or whenever your schedule permits. I immediately look over the material as soon as I get home from lecture and I go back and go over some questions I may have had in lecture and I look it up in the book until I grasp the concepts. It's more about grasping the concepts and being able to apply them. We're done with the memorization part of our schooling which was A&P (in my opinion). When you understand completely the concept, it makes it so much easier to answer the questions. I'm sure you already study this way as well because you have been doing really well on your tests

YOU CAN DO THIS! Only 24 more days! You can't quit now! You're strong! You don't want to go through this again! YOU DON'T WANT TO DO VIRTUAL CLINICALS AGAIN! :roll

Hi Guys,

I will be attending Northlake. We will follow the El Centro degree plan, so I consider myself an El Centro student, too. Can I join? :D

I want to take the math test as soon as possible, too.

My orientation is on November 15. I already have a lot of questions about the math test, scrubs, books...

:) Katie

aww Katie- a year ago at this time you were attending orientation. Can you believe how far we've come and how much farther we have to go! :p

I pulled this post out from a loooong time ago. So hard to believe it's already been a year....
