i know some of us have received our letters so i was wondering who else i will be making this journey with for the next 2 years.

my name is allison shaffer and it's nice to meet you. i know we will all be close because it's a small group. it would be nice to get to know some of you before november 17. :)

Where are you studying the growth and development from? We were told that it's going to be on the test, but it wasn't very specific.

There are growth and dev. lecture slides in the clinical handbook. They have info on toys and playing characteristics of each age groups. There are always 1 or 2 questions on toys on each test.

I study the growth and development from the book and I just now looked at the slides. They said there will be 1-2 G&D questions on every test for the whole second semester...remember there was a play question or something on the last test and I think there was a toy question too..I don't remember. I just briefly look over all of it.

And I think I missed both questions. :o They looked easy. I have to spend more time memorizing G&D stuff because I don't want to loose 4 points on them again.

I got 88 again. :) I am sure I missed G&D again. I will write about it after everybody finished test 3.

My lecture instructor is going to have a surgery on Monday so today is her last lecture day. That also means that today we had to decide where we would go to listen to the rest of the lectures. The options were ECC, Arlington, Presby Dallas, Presby Plano. I decided to go to Presby Dallas and listen to the lectures via TV.

Our instructor also talked about hesi. She said that school faculty sent our first and second semester syllabi to hesi so they would give test questions based on those 2 semesters. She also told us what Brie already said that we could do the case studies as many times as needed for a 90%.

I am going to miss my instructor, hopefully she recovers fast and goes back teaching 2nd semester lectures.

Oh wow that really stinks about your instructor! I loved listening to her lectures! What days are the lectures at Presby? Maybe I could make it out there to listen too. Do you have to let someone know?

I need all the good luck vibes I can get!! I am studying G&D like I never have before so I hope I at least get those questions correct....who knows! I will let everyone know my score tomorrow. I have to get a 96 to get an A HAHAHA YEAH RIGHT! Like that's gonna happen LOL. Katie- you're sitting pretty well at getting an A in lecture!! Good for you!!!

The Presby lectures are coming from Brie's instructor via TV. It's on Tuesdays 0900-1500. I think you could come and listen to it. We are all ECC students, aren't we.

I am sure you can make an A. You are a very smart girl.

Not yet. Somebody is supposed to send an email about the location. If not, I just go to the hospital on Tuesday and ask the nursing administration. They know everything. :)

Do you still have clinicals?

I finished clinicals a couple of weeks ago. I just have my final skills check off which is next Tuesday so I don't know if I will make it to that lecture. After that I will be done with everything except lecture!!!! Well, I still have my 2 peds rotations but those are on Fridays.

Are most of the people in your class going to Presby? Or are you guys all split up?

Most of them will go to ECC and Arlington. About 10 of us will go to Presby Dallas and 3 or 4 to Presby Plano.

Wow, our classroom is full as it is haha. This shall be interesting! Not everyone shows up to lecture so hopefully there will be enough room for all of us! :rolleyes:

That stinks that you guys will all be going in different directions :(

Are your clinicals over? Have you done Peds yet? I have no idea where to go at Medical City. I want to be in the Peds ICU though- I know that much!
