El Centro spring 2017

Published

Checking to see if there are any other applicants applying to elcentro spring 2017 program .. I'm looking to have 24 points before taking my hesi test Jan 2016 ..

I wish they would let us still apply with at least the first Hep A series and the second have it completed by the time the nursing semester started . I think they did wrong in changing that in May just 2 months before the application deadline.

have you tried to do a titer. I did one but it came back non reactive, so I have to just wait six months to get the second shot.

They didn't change it in May. It was changed at least as early as November 2015.

The hep B is the one that takes the longest to complete by all 3 doses being required in order to apply. Did you complete your hep B doses?

ohhhh I didn't realize that it was changed in November. :(

Yes I do have my Hep B series completed.

dang that sucks about that hep a. I know you probably don't want to hear this but on a positive note just know everything happens for a reason and it WILL all fall in place. Before you know it you'll be applying and starting the nursing program. We don't always understand why things happen the way they do but in the end everything will make sense

Hep A also takes 6 months. 1st dose in "month zero" and 2nd dose in month 6. Hep B is 1st dose in month zero, 2nd dose in month 1, and 3rd dose in month 6.

Yea it's definitely a lengthy process. I just got my last hep b week and finally submitted everything to sentry. I started the vaccine process last November and just finishing last week. Long process

Has anyone submitted their application? I turned mine in yesterday. Now to wait... 100 days until October 15. :nailbiting:

Congrats on submitting your application I know that felt great to turn it in. I haven't turned mine in just yet. Im waiting for them to receive my transcript from a previous school. All transcripts have to be on file before I can apply. They should receive it no later than monday so Im planning to turn my application in next week. I can't wait!!!!!! I'm ready for the 15th to pass so the waiting period can start and hopefully go by fast lol

It was so anticlimactic. Walked in, put my envelope in the drop box (there was no one in the office and the sign said all applications go in the drop box), and walked out. I was thinking "Trumpets and confetti would be nice - this has been a long time coming." :woot:

I had to get another transcript sent from a school I attended previously - I did that on Friday, July 1. Even though it has been on file since I came to DCCCD (in 2012), the packet said the print date has to be 3 years or less. *sigh* Thank goodness that school sent it electronically, so it was done that same day. So. many. hoops. to jump through. :sarcastic:

:roflmao: confetti would have been really nice!!! Heck it is a long time coming to get to the point of applying lol! sucks to just put it in a box lol i was thinking we would at least put it directly into someones hand lol i guess it doesn't matter but it would have been a little more personal to put it directly in someones hand  did it seem like the box was FULL of envelopes? Im curious with all the changing if less people will be applying this semester

Yea it sucks getting a transcript sent over. I submitted for mine to be sent electronically so i thought it would be sent same but unfortunately thats not the case. UNT takes up to 3 days to send it electronically. so annoying!
