El Centro Spring 2015

Hi all,

I am starting a tread for all the students that will be applying for spring 2015 ADN program at El Centro. Please join and give any info that you might have. I want to be successful as well as everyone else trying to apply.

Guys, I'm just thinking out loud. Hopefully this is not a dumb question, lol! How can one calculate his/her prereqs GPA? Where does a" B orC" falls under. 3.0-3.50 maybe?

It's not a dumb question at all. :-)

Use 2.0 for C, 3.0 for B, 4.0 for A.

Add them up and then divide by the number of classes. For example, if you had 3 classes with an A, B, and C grades, you would add 4.0 + 3.0 + 2.0 = 9.0

9.0/3 = 3.0 would be your GPA.

My question is for anybody who has already had their physical and titters/immunizations. How long did the whole process take? By process I mean the lab work and immunizations tb test etc.? How many days? Or were you able to do it all in one day? Thanks in advance.

RubyRed and AshPang, thank you guys so much!! I did end up withdrawing from the class, I honestly think it was the best decision for me. I seriously have never been so stressed about school in my entire life.. so it was pretty bad. @Ash, yeah I definitely didn't know what I was in for signing up for that class. Next time I am definitely taking it in a classroom during a FULL semester. I will be applying with 31pts, hoping and praying that is high enough. Again, thank you both for your help! :)

Hi alexnicoleex3! I too took A&P online and had to buy a lab kit. I later found out that they required an on campus lab, so I had to retake my A&P. I didn't confirm it but didn't want to risk it. I recently applied to the MHS/el centro program for this fall but haven't heard back just yet. I went to my interview and now anxiously waiting.

I don't believe there is a specific answer for your question. It will all depend on the vaccines you've already had in past, the ones you need, and how long it will take to gather all supporting documents.

Hi ShaiLynette: Yes I was worried and so I retook it. I didn't want to take the chance. I will apply for the El Centro program for Spring 15 if I don't get in at MHD/elcentro for this fall. I am also scheduled to re-take my hesi again so that I could hopefully get more points. I am at 31 pts now. How many points did you apply with?

I had 29 points which was also the cut off. For spring 2014 the cut off was 27 points. It seems to go up every semester so I really believe that you have a good chance with the 31 points. Keep pushing! :-)

Thank you for note to keep pushing. I will continue to. I have been through this 3 times. This time I have 31 pts. Hopefully, I am accepted for MHD, I will find out by the end of next week for sure. Anyway though I will keep the next hesi appointment for back up just in case. Also I scheduled a tour at UTD for next Monday.

Hello All, it seems like I will be applying for the Spring semester as well. So far I have 27 points, I know it's not enough, but I'm scheduled to take HESI monday to see if I can at least gain 1 or 2 more points. I'm not sure if I have a chance, but I'm planning on studying my butt off. We'll see.
