El Centro Spring 2018 Nursing Program Hopefules

U.S.A. Texas

Hello Nursing hopefules!

I will be applying for the El Centro Nursing Progam for spring 2018. I wanted to know if anyone else is working on their applications and how far along. Here to provide and receive support and help. I currently have 26 points without the HESI. I was only missing 3 points from the RN-BSN courses. I have taken the HESI 2 times before and there would always be one subject (grammar) that held me back from submitting my application. I did not take the HESI seriously and never studied for the test. This time is different. I have been studying my head off for 2 weeks now. Taking the HESI for the third and final time Feb 11. Hopefully I get to meet some future el Centro students here and start our journey together!

I just found this thread and wanted to let you know that there is a way to fast-track your Hepatitis A vaccination and actually do the two doses 1 month apart instead of 6. I just told my doctor that I needed them done sooner for nursing school applications and he put me on the fast-track. The vaccine might be a bit different, so I'm not sure if it would be more expensive or not. Just wanted to throw that out there!

I'm applying to El Centro for Spring 2018 and also to Collin. Good luck to everyone!

did u get your waiver approved ?

Hi everyone! I'm applying for the spring 2018 class as well. I dropped off my petition/waiver for sciences over 5 years old and my education plan yesterday. Still need to schedule my Hesi test (took it like 9 years ago, don't remember my scores but it wasn't bad.) Need to set up Sentry MD, and thinking about taking those HPRS clases for extra points. I currently work as an ultrasound tech so I really hope they approve my anatomy classes since I use them like everyday lol! Anyone know if the hesi test is different at Mountain View? I heard the time limit is different. El centro will take hesi scores from anywhere but mountain view only takes scores from tests taken at mountain view - odd?

Did you get it approve?

I will take my hesi on July for the first time... Any advice ?

It really seems like not many people are applying, I wonder if it has anything to do with the probation. Anyways I'm sort of in panic mode and still have a few more shots to take and my hesi before the july deadline (reallly doubt I'm going to make it). But its worth a shot I don't want to have to push this back another semester as far as everything else I have 24 points so far without the hesi. oh and does anyone know where I can get my cpr certification? all the classes I've seen so far are filled up.

What do you mean by probation ? I thought a lot of people apply during this time :-/ try this place for CPR classes AHA, CPR, First Aid, BLS, Instructor Classes Daily 214-592-7

See my above post

I was reading the fall 2017 el centro posts and they mentioned that the school is on probation due to low exit hesi scores and that if they don't get the scores up they could end the program. I haven't talked to anyone from the school to confirm this. Oh and thank you for the address.

Oh man... I just read that. I hope not :/ Were you able to get a CPR class? This is my email just in case if you can't find any CPR classes I can help you to find one. ([email protected]

Hello everyone!

I am very excited and I am planning on applying for the spring 2018!

However, I admit I am a little scared about their nursing program being on warning. :( Does anybody else feel this way?

Hi... I am somewhat nervous about the whole situation but I am hoping it will come out to be ok.

Me too. I'm so said when read that information. Hopefully they can improve the exit hesi scores within 1.5 year. I heard that the El Centro program is less organization than Brookheaven, and their test is usually unrelated to what they are teaching :(
