El Centro Spring 2018 Nursing Program Hopefules

Published

Hello Nursing hopefules!

I will be applying for the El Centro Nursing Progam for spring 2018. I wanted to know if anyone else is working on their applications and how far along. Here to provide and receive support and help. I currently have 26 points without the HESI. I was only missing 3 points from the RN-BSN courses. I have taken the HESI 2 times before and there would always be one subject (grammar) that held me back from submitting my application. I did not take the HESI seriously and never studied for the test. This time is different. I have been studying my head off for 2 weeks now. Taking the HESI for the third and final time Feb 11. Hopefully I get to meet some future el Centro students here and start our journey together!

How many points did you apply with?

I applied with 40 points. I'm just getting anxious now, I've applied for El Centro/Northlake, UTA and Grayson for next spring. I got wait listed this fall for Grayson, but I'm still on the list.

Hello. I graduated from this program in May. Yes, they are in a warning status. I do think their scores will improve with all the changes they are implemented. It is a good program. I passed NCLEX first try last week.

Yes my 5 year waiver was approved. I also applied in July.

What exactly did u turn in for ur waiver? Was it just the letter of approval they sent?

I sent in a 3 page letter explaining how I use a/p 1, a/p 2, and microbiology at work regularly and also had my manager send a letter supporting my claims. I got my bachelor's degree in 2007 so most of my core classes are pretty old. I currently work as a diagnostic medical sonographer. They send you an approval letter when the process is complete and that's what I turned in. It took about 6 weeks for the waiver and degree plan audit to be completed.

I mean in ur packet? I got my waiver approved too but were we only suppose to include the waiver approval letter in the packet? That's what I sent. I'm asking cause I read on another post that u had to send ur actual letter that u submitted asking for a waiver but I don't think so, I think it's only the one they send u back that u have to include in the packet.

Then I also read that a girl got denied a spot In the program because she didn't sign her letter that she included in the packet for her 5 year waiver. I'm just hoping I did mine right! I just included the letter of approval I got in the mail!

Congrats! I sent the approval letter they sent me and the actual degree audit. They looked at my packet a few weeks before the deadline and said it looked good.

Congrats Anna! I have been wanting to hear that from someone who just finished the program! Good luck out there. :)

Hoping everything gets on track with them. Congrats on passing on your first try! Good to hear that the program is good!! Do you know what points they usually accept?? Hoping mine are high enough!

Thank you. Obviously it is not the best program. My class went through a lot of bumps due to being the class where things were changed every semester for us. The point system has changed since I applied. I got in with 27 points I believe but that was when the max was 40 points, so it was very different. I had all but 2 of my BSN classes completed, both HPRS classes done, about 9 credits of support classes, and as far as HESI (math-90%, a&p-88%, english-85%). I would not be able to tell you what points they are currently accepting, but just know that it changes every application period, depending on who is applying.
