Does anybody have any advice or have any idea of the types of questions that are asked during a phone screen/interview? I have a phone interview with a local hospital but have no idea what to expect, never had one of these before. Kinda nervous and don't want to blow it! I want to get that 2nd interview :D !!!

They are pretty much like regular interviews. The one I had with Medical City, they asked me what my goals were, what was important to me in a work environment, tell them about a conflict that I'd encountered and how I handled it, etc. Behavorial questions were the crux of it. "Tell me about a time....." Just be friendly and open. Good luck and let us know how it goes!

Did you guys have to buy a dvd for $289 from the bookstore for an NCLEX review? If it is not required, I am soo tempted to return it!

I never heard of such a thing! ....Nor did I need it.

I did by the book packs, but nothing extra from the book store, except the HESI book during 1st semester.

Not a DVD - there was a yellow card for a live HESI review. There was a PracTest code that was supposed to be an NCLEX review that I didn't use. I forget how much the book box was for 4th semester, but we had a total cluster in that they didn't include the management book and crap like that. If you feel like you have enough NCLEX review material then return it....at least I would.

The 4th semester packet, not book box, which consisted of The Nursing Today Transition and Trends textbook plus the Nursing Today code, a user Guide for evolve, duh, and evolve online case studies, the same ones we had in 2nd semester which I already had and never used, and the DVD testing module for NCLEX. The book and 3 codes= $100.95, and the DVD= $282.65 for a total of $415.25 :flmngmd:!!!! Not to mention tuition was over $500 and not to mention that the HESI review is $145!!! I am just at the end of my rope, all that is left for me to do is jump! I guess they are making sure to make for-sure, for-sure that we are completely sucked bone dry by the end of the semester. Did you know that the 1st semester book box is now around $800!!! What a rip...the whole dang program is a rip :madface:!!!

Yeah - we all felt screwed too. You should be able to sell your case studies to someone else in the class who doesn't buy the book box....you don't need them until a few weeks down the road. Keep the faith though - you're almost out of there!!!

Thanks Yang. They always make it seem like you need the box and if you don't get it then you will not have what you need. Gahh, I am such a sucker!!! Did I tell you that my psych clinical is with Grey at Green Oaks, oh what fun. I just want to scream and do this :banghead: . I just have a feeling those 6 days are going to be hell! Hope I can bear with her...and probably a $%^* load of paperwork to do :(

Well, the bundled the HESI review with our book box, and put something (I can't remember what it was now) in the book box that we couldn't initially get on its own.

What a mess. Plus, unless they make major changes, the HESI review was a joke.
