congratulations! to everyone that is starting in january!
i'm so excited to meet everyone-please introduce yourself!
:groupwelcome:
M/S is definitely way too non-adrenaline for me. I need the craziness. Are you leery about going straight to ICU? From what I understand, the internships do a really wonderful job of prepping you at most hospitals!Yang
Yea kinda leery, I had been visualizing the patient just hanging on by a thread and....Oh Boy!!! I was thinking that kind of stress would be just too too much to start with. I just might reconsider after I do some checking around at different hospitals about their internships, the length of time and what it consist of etc.
Well, well, well, how sweet does it sound "RN Yang." I knew you would succeed. Congratulations and I wish you well on your ER endeavors. It must be nice to start your intern as a RN instead of just a GN. I'm hoping to do the same or at least a month after graduation. I know you will be busy but keep in tough with us who are still trying to survive ECC and let us know how things are turning out for you. Again congratulations "Yang, RN"

Thanks! I'll still be around though - fear not. I'm too much of a mommy to do otherwise. LOL

:ancong!: yang rn!!!!
i'm so proud of you! there was no doubt that you were going to do fine
school starts this week......
i haven't even looked at books, but at orientation they were telling us all the crap we need to buy and it sounded a little off for me. i will get my management book (which supposevely we have to purchase to get the one time use online code) and that is it for now!
i already have tons of nclex books and i have the hurst review for nclex also, so i feel set and ready to go.
yang rn, let us know how your first week goes ok?
ttyl!
Thanks Ally!!! Well, one week down! And though there are not any exciting stories yet, it has been interesting. Everyone from the CEO down seems super nice! It's just been mostly policy/procedure stuff so far, but I'm in class this week and then the next week, I have 1 day in the ER, and the next week, I think 2 or 3 days.
It seems like the ED is pretty high acuity though. They said a couple of patients to go on a vent PER DAY, and they see 3,000 + a month and 60% of those get admitted! Should be an adventure!

Call me crazy but I am thinking of starting off in M/S and then maybe moving on to ICU. The ER may be a little to fast paced for me, it's always hopping lol, but I know it can't be anything less than exciting...that is why I have to live it thru you!!! I am closer to downtown Dallas so I will probably try big Baylor, closer drive.
