Hi and welcome,
after waisting my money on the BIG BOX first semester, lol, I never bought it again. I also bought my books used on Amazon. I send you a private message.
I have bought the box each semester, and will get it again. (Of course, mine is paid for with my scholarship.) ...$$$ may have made me not get them if I didn't have the scholarship!
I use the computer 24/7, though....so it is most beneficial for myself (to get the CDs.)
I have the Straight A's in med-surg, and I have ordered the straight A's in Pyschology Nursing.
I also HIGHLY recommend buying the HESI NCLEX-RN Review book. It is a good source for review throughout the semesters.
Are the "Made Incredibly Easy" series of review books worth the money? Thanks!
I don't know anything about this particular series. I have also used the Straight A series books for Maternity and Pedi. For Med surg, psych and fluids and lytes/ABG's I used Reviews and Rationales series by Prenhal. As far as NCLEX review books goes, I swear by Saunders.
I just got the Nursing Made Incredibly Easy subscription----just got my first two magazines in the mail yesterday--haven't had a chance to flip through them yet.
I've gone to Barnes & Noble and flipped through the Made Incredibly Easy NCLEX review book & it was great! lots of questions and most importantly rationales! I will purchase it eventually.
I have several "Incredibly Easy" series, plus subscribed to the magazine at one point.
I do like them...I bought all of mine off of Ebay, if I remember correctly.
Definitely check Ebay or Amazon for the Straight A books, HESI RN-NCLEX Review, and Incredibly Easy books.
As far as the study guides, I read while doing the study guide questions. Some, I don't get to finish all of them, but the more you can do, the better. There's definitely not time to read, then do the study guides afterwards.
Why bother? lol...just as easy to ask it where ever I'm at. Everyone watches them all anyways. I just got word that another was transferred to NLC (Tiffany). Although her e-mail said that Kanora said "we all" were being transferred. I think she just misunderstood the e-mail, but that would be interesting to say the least. We'll see I suppose...

Hi Newby!
I just finished 2nd semester at NLC. One of the books that we all found very helpful was
Making Straight As in Maternal/Newborn, its by Lippincott. They also make a Making Straight As in Pediatrics. (ps. when word got out about these books, you couldn't get them anywhere)
I used it and made my first A in lecture. It comes with CD with rationales which I found very helpful.
I also used our textbook Loudermilk and Wong (they both have nurse care plans for peds which will be useful during your peds rotation. I bought the box of books so unfortunately I'm stuck with all of the useless studybooks---YOU WILL NOT HAVE TIME TO READ THE COMPLETE CHAPTER LET ALONE DO A STUDY BOOK!!!! just fyi!
The semester flies by fast and furious..
Unfortunatly I'm repeating 2nd semester, but that is due to me failing my skills class by 3 points....AAACK----waaa waaa
