Edukan A&P2 summer session 3!!!

Published

I had been thinking about starting this thread all week and forgot about it. I guess the time has finally come! Class starts on Monday. I've been doing some of the ADAM labs to get ahead, but haven't done any of the "Beyond Adam" questions in the lab. I'm planning to start reading this weekend as well. Anybody remember what chapter A&P 1 left off with?

Come on everybody, let's make the next 6 weeks great, with lots of A's!!!

:monkeydance: :monkeydance: :monkeydance:

One more question, lol, I read in the syllabus that we don't need to do the Beyond ADAM questions, but what are they?? I feel like a dumbie for even asking this ;)

I'd also like to hear more about the CCC micro course. Is the lab part hard? Are all the tests taken at home like with edukan? I'm thinking of signing up for the next class.

Wow! I'm glad I found this group! I, too, think the questions are getting soooo much harder! I just took chapter 3 and got a 56%, doesn't sound too good, does it :( I'm wondering how much bad test scores affect our overall average!!

Have you ever had a question in the lab book that you just can't find an answer to? If anyone can help me, I'd appreciate it. I don't think he really even looks over the answers, but I'm curious since I can't find it anywhere.

In lab 7.4, #5: What is the functin of the submandibular lymph node? I haven't read the text yet, but I did skim it and I've looked online & just can't find it, it's driving me crazy, lol.

I'm so glad I went ahead with the labs between A&P I & A&P II, the material & studying are taking up so much time that I can't imagine having to keep up with all the labwork as well.

I bought a physiology workbook that was listed under this course as needed, but I don't see where we will use it, did anyone else buy it??

Hey Sheri Ann!

You don't have to do any of the Beyond Adam questions in the lab book. I didn't realize this until somebody on here pointed that out the first week! Simmons had a short sentence on the week 1 lab assignment that said you don't have to do Beyond Adam or any 3D exercises. It's saved me a lot of time to not have to look all those up!

As for the tests...Ugh! I went through and figured out what I need to get on all the tests from her out in order to get an A. I needed a 42 or better from Unit 3 on, and thankfully I got exactly that on unit 3. We'll see if I can keep it up! I've never liked his outlines, but this unit I decided to try them. I printed his outlines and the ones available on the book website and then kind of combined them. I used his as the main one but wrote in notes from the other one and my own notes as I read the chapter. Then I used that to study. It seemed to help this time, but it may have been a fluke!

As for that physiology book, I had seen that book listed as a required and e-mailed him the week before class started and he said his class didn't require it. Hope you can send it back (but if you're like me you've already opened it!)

Welcome to Allnurses!

THey're the ones that say "Beyond Adam" out to the left side and have a grey line that runs next to them. They require you to do some research to figure out the answer - like the one you can't find the answer to in 7.4

Yep! I already opened it, lol. I'll put it on half.com & maybe I can sell it there! Thank-you for your reply.

Also, for those who haven't taken the unit 3 test, 3 of the questions I had were from the review questions at the end of the chapter.

Yes, I'm going to start reviewing those questions right before testing as well!

Hey guys! I just took unit 4 exam and guess what - you get 45 minutes for this one! I don't know why. I didn't look at the timer when I first started but looked at it when I was on 12 or 13 and I still had 37 minutes left. Thought it must be a glitch, but whatever. So when I finished I went back to the class page and on the page for unit 4 exam it says you get 45 miuntes. Heads up - again there were about 3 questions word for word from the review questions at the end. And several others came straight from his wording on the outline, so be sure you study from it too. I think that's actually helped because I know what kind of terminology he uses for things. Now I don't have to worry about any more tests this week, well except for my chem test...ugh. But I wanted this out of the way.

Good luck this week everybody!

I didn't think I'd seen you in the class discussion. Sorry to hear you had to drop, but hopefully it will work out with ccc. I'm halfway in to my 2nd semester w/ Simmons and finally figured out his tests. Hopefully that will help when I take micro w/ him this fall! Good luck Seemi!

Thanks Lana! I was hoping to take the unit 4 test tonight, but my dd just dropped of her 1 y.o. and he isn't asleep yet :( I'm finding the outlines to be very helpful as well.

I was trying not to be a pest by posting on here all the time, but wanted to pass this on. I just logged on to the class and was given a mandatory mid-class survey. I think everybody should comment on not being able to view the tests after we take them. I wrote a whole paragraph about it!

I wish I saw your email earlier, I already did mine, too. I will note that on my final survey. I agree with you totally. I even had him regrade a test for me once because I thought I got an A and got a D! I still don't know WHAT I didn't know, lol.

I asked him to do that for me twice last semester and all he ever told me was "the key is correct". Ugh! How helpful is that?
