I had been thinking about starting this thread all week and forgot about it. I guess the time has finally come! Class starts on Monday. I've been doing some of the ADAM labs to get ahead, but haven't done any of the "Beyond Adam" questions in the lab. I'm planning to start reading this weekend as well. Anybody remember what chapter A&P 1 left off with?

Come on everybody, let's make the next 6 weeks great, with lots of A's!!!

Im so glad you started that thread. Im not sure how to do that yet..

well, Im a little nervous.. My adam isnt here yet. How much do we use this? Also, I had bought the older version (2) TO SAVE MONEY. so, am I going to regret this.. do I need to reorder the right one.. for you veterans of edukan, do we turn in work thru this lab, or is it strickly for our benefit..

I'm not sure what the difference between version 2 and 4 is, but it shouldn't matter. It is new though, right? Supposedly it won't let you install it on more than 1 computer so you can't pass the software off to other people. You will do the labs on your own and put the answers in the workbook. To turn it in, the easiest way to do it is to type up the answers in Word and then you can copy/paste it in to the "journal entry" on the webpage. I don't think he checks the answers at all, as long as it looks like you've turned everything in. (that's my opinion, not sure how true it is!) You will also have homework questions from the book - usually just the multiple choice/matching questions. There are also threaded discussion each week that we have to respond to, plus respond to 2 other students answers. I kind of like those questions because they make you think, although they are not really helpful for the tests! By the way, you aren't tested over the lab material. I had expected to see a picture on the test that asked you to identify something but there's nothing like that.

Hi Amy and Lana,

I'm sooo ready to get started with this class and get done! I'm okay with the idea of all the reading but realized that I'm NOT looking forward to doing all those A.D.A.M. lab pages. It's so tedious! :uhoh3:

I believe we left off at chapter 15 with the autonomous nervous system? I hear that A/P 2 isn't so much memorization but that all the vein and artery stuff is tough.

I'm looking foward to being in class with you both!

AAAAaacccckkkk!!!!!

My computer completely crashed last night - cannot read the hard drive! :banghead: I called tech support and we couldn't get it to do anything over the phone so they said I have to send it to Texas to get it repaired under my warranty and it will take a couple of weeks. :angryfire

I told them I can't be without my computer because I start an online class in 2 days but they don't care. I thought about just taking it somewhere here and getting it fixed but would have to pay out of pocket. When I called my dad this morning he offered to bring me their old computer, but it doesn't have a DVD player to do the ADAM stuff. Sooo...he told me that I was going to need a laptop eventually but he'd just been waiting til the right time. So I'm at a friends house looking at the ads online to find something in a reasonable price range and then going shopping for one this afternoon! Then I can send my desktop in for repair and be all set . Yeah! But I'm not getting all the work done today on chemistry and A&P that I'd hoped. Oh well, that's what late nights are for!

Oh my gosh..That would be my worse nightmare!-really..

I know you had to be freaking out! well, its good you are getting a laptop.. I need one too! its just easier, then fighting the little ones (they LOVE computer games right now).. so, Im looking into getting one.. Let me know what you found! I know I wanted to get thru the first chapter by the weekend by I dunno.. we are just getting home from an all day swim meet, and well, its 5, Im tired!! oh well, like you said, thats what late nights are for.. when does SImmons open the class up.. Im been going to the site early this am, and just now its still not open.. anyway, talk to you guys later!!

I got the laptop - had to buy the display model because they were sold of of the one I wanted, but I got a great deal on it. Circuit City was offering a free all-in-one printer this week with the purchase of a laptop, so I got that too. I'm already feeling less stressed just by having the laptop in the house. Now I have to call the ADAM company because the software won't let me install it on a 2nd computer! It's 6pm and the only homework I've gotten done is 4 chemistry problems - ugh!

By the way, the class page doesn't open until Monday morning. It's kind of frustrating, but that's how our A&P1 class was.

Hey guys!!! I'll be taking A&PII session 3 also. I just finished Microbiology yesterday and boy am I glad that is over!!! Although, I bet by Monday I'll be wishing I was still in there vs being in A&P!! LOL. Oh well. I bought my ADAM lab book used (although it doesn't look like the last person used it at all, only about 4 words written in it and the CD is still sealed). I wonder if it'll let me download the CD??? I don't have my laptop w/ me now so I'll have to try it later. I *think* I downloaded that ExamGaurd software right, but it makes my computer act really weird. Let's hope the next 5 weeks are fast!!! :uhoh21: Mel

If the CD is still sealed then it should be fine. Wonder how somebody thought they would do it without opening the CD????

Did you take micro through Edukan with Simmons? How was it? I'm trying to decide if I'm going to take it this fall.

Can you guys even get to the page where our enrolled courses are? I keep putting in my ID # and password and then it teslls me it can't find the page. If somebody can get to that page, send me a link please. On my old computer I had that page bookmarked and then would just login from there.

I just tried and I was able to log in perfectly fine for my A&P 1 class. Are you still having trouble?

I was having trouble logging in earlier today too. However, I just tried to login, and was able too.. I guess the course isnt ready though, YET!

Have you guys started reading the senses yet (ch 16th right?)

Are his tests really hard? I read some on the other posts, about his tests just being kinda off the wall. is it alot of essay.. I really hate those!
