A couple of pointers -
1. Buy your books online.
2. If you have any other classes you have to take that aren't nursing take them this semester. (only semester with out clinicals, each semester gets tougher)
3. Go to financial aid and apply for a nursing scholarship, they are still accepting them and they have a good bit.
If you have any questions about the classes or schedules let me know, they stay pretty much the same each year. Don't go by the ones posted online because they are not always accurate.
I am so excited for you guys, it is a great program and it is a close group, its like a second family.
Thanks Kitty and Fl Mom. I really hope that I enjoy this program. Do you guys have any ideas what type of nurses you want to be?
Those are some great tips. I really should look online to buy my books. I know some of them can get very expensive and I generally keep all my school books. Is there a way to get a list of the books before the start of the semester?
I still need to take Human Growth and Development - DEP 2004. I was thinking of taking that in the first Spring Semester. Do you think that semester is pretty busy?
I will check into the scholarships. My job will pay for 6 credits a semester but something for books will help. :) I also think I need to pay all the additional nursing fees.
Are you guys working while going to school? I have a full time job so I am hoping that I will be able to balance the 2 things at once along with other things in life. If something does come up with work - i.e. If have a conference, are the teachers understanding if I make up the work?
Thanks for the help!

-All the semesters are going to be pretty busy, but better to get all non-nursing classess out of the way as soon as you can because it will seem overwhelming towards the end.

-The scholarship office is more than willing to help the nursing students! I applied and a few months later was awarded $. The application is about ten questions- no sweat! Also, it doesn't hurt to fill-out a FASFA, (In-fact I think you might have to have one filled-out to apply for a scholarship)

-The best thing about the evening program is just that! We all work, have kids, lots of stuff going on! But the proff. are always willing to work with you.
Hope this helps!
See you at the orientation!

I am not sure what type of nurse I want to be. I think I will decide after this semester. We have our Peds and Ob rotation. Right now I am leaning towards ER, I think it will be between Peds and ER, I know I definitely don't want Med Surg, have had enough of that for now.
I am going to go back for my masters depending on where we move to.

they are acutally dropping the ACT requirement and they are now requiring the HESI instead. This past June was the last app that would be accepted with the ACT, from now on it is the HESI
