Members are discussing the accreditation of the LPN-RN program at Eastwick College, with some confusion about the difference between accreditation by the Board of Nursing (BON) and regional accreditation. Some members express concerns about the program not being specifically accredited for nursing, while others share study resources and advice for those starting the LPN-RN bridge program. There is also discussion about class schedules and experiences at the school.
Hi has anyone tried out eastwick college in nj or jersey college in teterboro for the RN program? I am trying to figure out which would be the best to go to?

I'm talking he has us there from 2p-6:30p doing 5pm med pass and of course he would quiz you before giving the meds. we have to submit a typed head to toe on our patient. and today at post conference he had us present our head to toe then prompted us to do care plans like on the spot. so glad we just have one more clinical in this term left ??
Yeah he's bad. We do care plans in our class too. And he always want to do lecture before exam, like sir please don't confuse us with all the18 topics we have to remember for exam

Everyone is saying they don't want him as a teacher again. It's bad when your arguing with both groups of class because of your exams and the back and forth

This is a known problem with this college. It is hit or miss with instructors. We had one that legit made us all feel like garbage about ourselves all of the time. She was very snide. Her exams were very also very difficult. Lots of people complained about her too and lucky she's not there anymore.
Do you guys actually go to clinical sites now??

No clinicals yet. This our first class for the term. Next class will be pharm
I'm in term 5. this was our first term with in person clinicals. we started going at wk 6 our last wk is 10. then have finals for wks 11&12. we went to new bridge bergen medical center. we were limited to two floors. long term vent unit and I think a locked behavioral unit on the 4th floor. it's literally a joke I feel like I'm working for free and even worse neil's group is the only one that actually does work. the other groups just observe and leave early LOL smh but I'm glad this is our last term then NCLEX prep.

Man that sucks. I am sorry. I am surprised that they got you guys in there. I wonder if that is because our cohort complained about the lack of in person clinicals.
I get the working for free part. You guys aren't learning any RN skills at all, just using your LPN skills? Good news at least you can put it on your resume under your clinical experience and when you are asked at interviews you can refer to it and it sounds better. It might help if you want to go into peds at all since new bridge is the only hospital in the area that has a psych unit for adolescents.
Keep me updated and if you need help, feel free to reach out! The Capstone is pretty breezy IMHO with the exception of Concepts 2 (its a lot of leadership) and Leadership.
As far as I am aware, almost all of my class has passed their NCLEX and there were 28 +of us. A few are still waiting to test because of the ATT situation but I am not worried about them. The ones I was worried about already passed. haha.

That amazing your almost done. But clinicals does seem.like a joke. Long term is different than hospital setting, but at least your almost finish. congrads

Hi!!
I'm looking to get into this school, actually I already spoke to admissions and I have schedule the fundamentals test next Friday, BUT after I reading this trend I have doubts, I know there is no perfect program and I'm very interested in this one because I heard I can have class only 1 or 2 days at most and it works for me that way, I am disappointed about not learning that much skills as I already work in long term. I don't think there is another program that offers only 2 days for 18 months, right ? Plus, I am planning to get some prereq online as ACE credits and I can save also money (like 31 credits) since I don't have any pre reqs
I'll appreciate any advice and I wish you the best in this hard journey, I may be there soon too,

There isn't any perfect school. Yes class is only one or two days depending on pre requirements completed before admitted.
They don't except any pre req after admission so do them before.
Class is rough due to loads of topics your learning in less than 2 wks.

No they don't call him that. This is first term so that's what he said his name is. First Name niel. And he does does say " what else"
We complained to nurse director thats why I think we were able to go over our second test. Nothing else. He is hard teacher, no reviews and no pinpoints. And he always put things we never went over. It's crazy with this class.
