Duquesne University ABSN 2022

Hi all!

I know it's still early for this program (deadline in May), but I was recently accepted and wanted to start a discussion forum! I really wanted to be in Pittsburgh and like Duquesne's program, which is why I applied.

Accepted/prospective students please feel free to respond, as well as current students - I'd love to hear what you think about the program!

Yeah, I'm gonna have to get started on that ?How long did it take you to complete the stuff that you got done?

So I paid the $103 for that package set that had everything so it took them 2 or 3 days for the background check, just got my fingerprints done yesterday and IdentoGo said they'll mail me my results to upload ?? The HIPAA thing didn't take long (maybe an hour) on Blackboard. The drug test didn't take long either but I got that done yesterday so I probably won't have the results until next week. The longest part of the process is that Childhood Abuse Module clearance that you gotta go through for 3 hours and then they give you a certificate you gotta upload. I procrastinated a lot on that so it took me 3 days because I hate that it has a timer on each slide and you can't skip through that. I had to register for my CPR class that I'm taking on June 28th but that's all I gotta finish now besides the medical forms the school needs.

Oh wow. Yeah, I should definitely get myself working on these ASAP?

how long did it take you to gain access to the FB group the university made? I'm still waiting to get in ?

They posted about getting the deposit and pre-clinical requirements done, along with an event that occured like last month. Not much really LOL. I think they'll add more stuff as we get closer to the start of the program.

Ah okay. I'm going to tour the School of Nursing on the 27th this month so I'm excited to see it in person. My friend told me nursing school is hell so at least we're all in it together ??

I got accepted to Duquesne about a month ago. I'm pretty excited to be back in Pittsburgh honestly. I only have to take 2 pre-reqs as nursing wasn't my initial career choice but I found something I am going for beyond becoming an RN. I'm really excited to meet everyone. I've decided to do the 16 month track. 

Has anyone done their clearances yet? All the stuff we gotta do by July 15th makes my head spin. 

Hey! I'm having trouble with CastleBranch. How do you log in to the website? What did you use to log in? I can't figure it out (sorry if it's obvious and I'm just missing it! LOL)

Edit: NVM! Figured it out. That was tricky!
