Duquesne University ABSN 2022

Published

Hi all!

I know it's still early for this program (deadline in May), but I was recently accepted and wanted to start a discussion forum! I really wanted to be in Pittsburgh and like Duquesne's program, which is why I applied.

Accepted/prospective students please feel free to respond, as well as current students - I'd love to hear what you think about the program!

Hey y’all sooo it’s looking like I’m most likely going to accept my offer here ?. I’m from CA too and have never been to Pennsylvania or let alone that far out East .. kinda nervous about it but I was wondering how you guys were going about finding a place to live?

I’ve been looking in the area and have accepted the offer.

I've never been to Pittsburg as well, but I've been looking on facebook housing groups in the area. I'm originally from NY and currently living out west

I'm from California, female as well, never been to the east :(( I'm still waiting for some schools in California and Arizona. Are you guys on the FB group?

I'm a F from Washington. I'm still waiting for another school to get back to me.

Im from NJ but never been to Pittsburgh so I am open to anything.

Specializes in OR, Nursing Professional Development.

Please note that as the Terms of Service do not permit the posting of items for sale or rent, including real estate, that roommate searches fall within that restriction. Several posts have been edited.

Im in the facebook group as well (my names Israel) feel free to connect w me on there ?

Does anyone know the next application cycle?

Thank you!! I will also do some more research on my end as well but I probably won't be able to visit any time soon. I'm from San Francisco but I'm finishing up my undergrad in San Diego currently. what about you?

Hey!! I’m currently in the program and I also moved from California just to go to this school. If you have any questions feel free to ask if you’re still interested!! Anything about how the program is and apartments in the area ?

Which program did you choose 12 or 16? How do you feel about the program and being prepared for exams? What apartments are good in the area at a reasonable price? I plan on bringing my car and am not looking to make a long commute.

Do you feel like having a car is necessary? Shipping costs from CA to PA are pricy so I’m not sure if I rly need it especially since I plan to be there for only a year. Also how much can rent range from out there? Last q, do you plan to work in CA afterwards?

I chose the 12 month! Classes are definitely material heavy so of course you need to study. But it is definitely manageable, I studied during the week and had most of my weekends completely free. I actually felt like I had more free time than I needed so I decided to get a casual PCT job this semester. Spring semester is your busiest semester in the 12 month program but I still feel like I have a good balance of school, studying, free time, and I work one 8 hour shift a week. Apartments around Duquesne are pricey, most are around 1000-1300. But a lot of people I know live in South Side and rent there is cheaper from what I’ve heard!
