Hi all!
I know it's still early for this program (deadline in May), but I was recently accepted and wanted to start a discussion forum! I really wanted to be in Pittsburgh and like Duquesne's program, which is why I applied.
Accepted/prospective students please feel free to respond, as well as current students - I'd love to hear what you think about the program!

Hey!! I’m currently in the program and I also moved from California just to go to this school. If you have any questions feel free to ask if you’re still interested!! Anything about how the program is and apartments in the area ?

Which program did you choose 12 or 16? How do you feel about the program and being prepared for exams? What apartments are good in the area at a reasonable price? I plan on bringing my car and am not looking to make a long commute.

Do you feel like having a car is necessary? Shipping costs from CA to PA are pricy so I’m not sure if I rly need it especially since I plan to be there for only a year. Also how much can rent range from out there? Last q, do you plan to work in CA afterwards?

I chose the 12 month! Classes are definitely material heavy so of course you need to study. But it is definitely manageable, I studied during the week and had most of my weekends completely free. I actually felt like I had more free time than I needed so I decided to get a casual PCT job this semester. Spring semester is your busiest semester in the 12 month program but I still feel like I have a good balance of school, studying, free time, and I work one 8 hour shift a week. Apartments around Duquesne are pricey, most are around 1000-1300. But a lot of people I know live in South Side and rent there is cheaper from what I’ve heard!
