DUKE DNP/MSN Spring 2018

Published

I was just wondering if anyone has applied to Duke for one of their graduate programs for Spring of 2018? I chose to go the BSN-DNP w/ FNP track route. Now I am patiently waiting for applications to close and interviews to go out. I would love to connect with other students who are applying! Also I would love to hear feedback from any current or past students. Thanks!

Yeah I am super excited to find out but I am currently out of state on a travel assignment and I think it's crappy that they are waiting so long and so close to the open house to let us know something... I just want to know so I can book a flight lol!

Just got an email, looks like decisions will post next Friday!

Yep! Got that email too! Good Luck!! Hope you can get a cheap flight if you gotta get to Durham!!

I also applied to Duke and interviewed back in early July. I have heard from several coworkers/friends who are current NP students at Duke that they were also given an initial decision date then told it would be another 1-2 weeks before final decisions would be posted. I was told that Duke posted SOME admissions decisions prior to the extended date -- which gives me a little hope that we could hear before 8/25. Has anyone else heard similar stories? It concerns me that interviews were still taking place a full 2-3 months after the application deadline. That isn't exactly what I was expecting from such a prestigious university. Nevertheless... I just want to know either way at this point. Checking my e-mail and SISS every few hours has become my new hobby.

 This wait has been agonizing!

The wait is killing me also! I keep constantly checking for a decision also. I put all of my eggs into the Duke basket because I had a gut feeling that's where I'm supposed to be. I haven't heard of anyone getting a decision yet, but I heard some people who previously were wait listed for this fall got invites for interviews for spring. Keeping my fingers crossed for all of us!

Hopefully good news SOON for everyone! I am crossing my fingers to hear tomorrow since I will be working Friday and won't be able to check the website. :geek:

I work wed-fri night lol but I'll still be checking when I have free moments at work haha! I'm hoping to be celebrating good news this weekend í ½í¸!!!

I applied to the MSN in education program. Interviewed at the beginning of August and anxiously waiting to hear back!

Does anyone know anyone that has been through the masters program? Any idea how they do the courses? (Scheduled class time vs. recorded lectures). There isn't much information available here from previous students!

Praying for all of you to get good news!

Hi everyone! I applied for the PNP- Primary Care for Spring 2018. I just got an email about the MSN program director wanting to speak with me- I was asked to give times that were good to speak and a good phone number to reach me at. I have a bad feeling about it. Did anyone else receive this message?

Have you already had your interview, PEDICU?

I haven't heard of this, but I wouldn't read too much into it until you talk to her!

I agree with ashleyrosesf. I wouldn't worry too much about it until you speak with the director. Think about it like this -- at least you know they are looking at your application. That's always a good thing, right?

Thanks for the reassurance! í ½í¸Š That's true! I'm just nervous that I'm on the cusp or son and everything will ride on our discussion! I'll update you all after the call.
