Duke ABSN 2012

Published

Hey everyone!

I was wondering if there was anyone out there applying to Duke's ABSN program for the spring or fall class in 2012. I'm going to apply, but can't decide if I should apply for the spring or the fall. If I apply for the Spring class- I will still have 3 prereqs to finish (micro, soc, and stat) which I can finish before the program starts. Is it crazy to apply to Duke with 3 outstanding prereqs? Should I wait until December and apply for Fall 2012 instead? At that time I will be currently taking the last of the prereqs. Any advice would be helpful! Especially if there's anyone who has gotten into Duke with 3 prereqs to go...

Hi All-

I'm new to this thread, but I wanted to congratulate everyone on their interview invites! I got one as well and I will be coming from Seattle and getting into NC on the morning of the 28th for the interview day on the 29th. It would be great to have some company for dinner or lunch sometime with anyone who will be out there that weekend, as I will be there for a few days after the interview as well.

Hey, I will be coming from Seattle as well. Which day are you interviewing?

anyone coming into town for the interview: if you need a ride to/from the airport or need a place to crash, let me know! i live 4 minutes away from Duke so it would be really convenient. You have to like dogs though :) just message me if you need anything at all while you are here!

I see that there are three people including myself that will be heading to Duke from Seattle. What do you think about meeting up and preparing for the interview? My interview is August 5th.

Let me know if you are interested in meeting.

I will be attending Duke Days on August 1. I'm still trying to decide what I should wear in order to be comfortable, yet professional. I also need to find a hotel within a close proximity to the campus- does anyone have any suggestions? I am very excited and hopefully in one month we will receive notifications for first round acceptances! :)

there is a hotel that is literally across the street from the hospital, i can't think of what it's called right now but i'll be there monday and will make a note of the name on here!

I signed up for July 29th. I live in Raleigh, so not far of a commute for me! Even though I live in NC and yes it is hot, I probably will still wear a suit. I don't think I can go wrong choosing a suit and also I can take the jacket off if it gets too much! We will be indoors, so it should be ok. I lived in NY and I swear the heat and humidity was way worse there than here in the summertime! I also would love to meet anyone who is coming on July 29th, esp. if you are from out of town and staying for a couple days. Sja9880 and KCbaby57 I think we're Raleigh/Durham neighbors!

Hi Everyone, I'm new to this thread, but have been haunting allnurses for a few weeks now. I signed up for an interview on the 29th too. Hopefully some of us will be able to meet then. I'm sooo excited!

btw I think I'll wear a suit too just to be safe.

I live about 30min from campus, so it's a nice little commute for me. I'll be there on the 29th (well...I HOPE I will! Where is that confirmation email??) I'm so excited! Of course, the wait now is nothing compared to the nerve-wracking wait AFTER the interviews! :)

My interview confirmation email was in my inbox when I woke up this morning. Does anyone know what a group interview is? Is that where they interview several candidates at the same time?

Hi guys: I am coming out for an interview on the 5th.

The group interview sounds tricky, I have goggled tips on how to behave during one. (lots and lots of info online.) I would love to meet up with anyone on the 5th and practice (since we may be in the same group any how)

FYI they have extended interviews to 140 applicants.

@Hmgunc yes multiple candidates ant one time, I have never participated in one myself, and I am not to excited for this to be my 1st experience with one

I also got an interview! Heading there on the 29th! Yay!
