Duke ABSN 2012

Published

Hey everyone!

I was wondering if there was anyone out there applying to Duke's ABSN program for the spring or fall class in 2012. I'm going to apply, but can't decide if I should apply for the spring or the fall. If I apply for the Spring class- I will still have 3 prereqs to finish (micro, soc, and stat) which I can finish before the program starts. Is it crazy to apply to Duke with 3 outstanding prereqs? Should I wait until December and apply for Fall 2012 instead? At that time I will be currently taking the last of the prereqs. Any advice would be helpful! Especially if there's anyone who has gotten into Duke with 3 prereqs to go...

Seriously! I'm hoping that the person who said Wednesday is correct. I need to make plans if I'm coming to Duke Days!

I hate to say it, but I think whether Wed is correct totally depends on how the week has been going for them as I assume they are spending the week going through our applications. I would hope for Friday and then be really happy if we find out sooner! (Though in my mind, I'm thinking Thursday.)

well, since there was only 207 applicants and they're used to 400...maybe that means today will be the day! keeping my fingers crossed for all of you!

Hey everyone!

I applied to the fall 2011 cohort and I am STILL on the waitlist. I'm currently number two but the past few times I've spoken with "her" the odds of her pulling off the waitlist are pretty slim right about now. So I've decided to move my application over for spring just in case. I just wanted to offer some info for those who may be interested:

1.) Duke is NOT very precise about notification dates. They will always tell you around a certain timeframe, but there will never be a specific day that you can expect a response. In my experience, it's best not to psych yourself out or get your hopes up. Just try to put them to the side and go on about your life until they decide to send their email.

2.) This spring apparently they will be switching one faculty interview for a group interview. I don't like this move AT ALL. If you're like me and were on the waitlist, the interview is optional.

3.) This cohort is substantially smaller that the fall's cohort so I would say everyone should try to relax and keep in mind that the odds of you getting at least an interview are pretty high.

Good luck to everyone!

Looks like they are working late! I just received an email for an interview :D

I got mine too :)

I got an interview as well! Congratulations, you all!

Got an interview! Congratulations everyone!! We're all gonna get in and be the happiest class they've ever had :)

Got my interview email! Now I just need to tame the butterflies until then. I'm actually alot more nervous about paying for this than I am about the interview. I still have a pretty good debt from my first degree and I wonder about the wisdom of adding to that.

So excited to get the interview email!! I was surprised to see it from almost 9 last night! Maybe they heard are wishes to hear on Wed and made it come true:yeah:Congrats to everyone, we are one step closer!

congrats everyone!! i just read mine this morning. now i need to hurry up and buy a ticket from seattle to north carolina. i am so excited. is there anyone that lives in seattle, wa that has to do the same?
