Hey everyone!
I was wondering if there was anyone out there applying to Duke's ABSN program for the spring or fall class in 2012. I'm going to apply, but can't decide if I should apply for the spring or the fall. If I apply for the Spring class- I will still have 3 prereqs to finish (micro, soc, and stat) which I can finish before the program starts. Is it crazy to apply to Duke with 3 outstanding prereqs? Should I wait until December and apply for Fall 2012 instead? At that time I will be currently taking the last of the prereqs. Any advice would be helpful! Especially if there's anyone who has gotten into Duke with 3 prereqs to go...
Hello everyone!
I'm new but just wanted to congratulate everyone on their interviews! I was offered one also. Does anyone know how many interview offers they sent out? Also, what is everyone planning on wearing to the interview? I live right outside of Durham and a suit seems a little much for this NC heat. Any advice? I rsvp'd for July 29th. Did anyone else?
You actually might want to read the thread for the last Spring cohort regards to dress. I think (if I remember correctly) that not everyone wore a suit. Weather wise it is just a better comparison.
sja9880 - I believe the target number for interviews was 150, but I don't know if that was the actual number or not.
Thanks for the tip on reading the forum for 2011, oaktown2! They did have a lot of great information. I do feel better after reading they accept well over their desired number. I hate that so many people had trouble obtaining enough loans to start the program though. In regards to wardrobe again, I'm thinking we'll be inside most of the day except for walking over to the hospital. They've been doing so much construction it's hard to say if it be a short or long walk.
owlune - you are welcome to PM me. I'd love to get to know some people before interviews. Seems like it'll lessen the nerves a little. : )
Woohoo!! Congrats to everyone else who got an interview! I was so thrilled to get that email! To anyone going on the 5th- looking forward to meeting you all!
HIHIM: I am coming from Portland, so I'm sure you feel the pain on flight cost and travel time too! ouch. But it will be worth it if we get in, right?! I thought about doing the phone or skype interview, but it just seemed so much less personal.
Has anyone gotten the confirmation email yet? I'm traveling right now and used the internet on my phone for the first time to RSVP and I'm worried that it didn't work.
Well, congrats again to everyone!
hey yall, I RSVPd for August 1st, since I'm workin nights and won't be working Sunday hopefully! I'm still gonna be tired though! I'm really excited about all of this, but I'm also worried about the loan situation. I'm sure my EFC won't be very high, so I hope I get some help, but I don't want to have to take out a bunch of private loans, and basically have 0 cash to contribute! It will be hard enough scraping up 500$ for the deposit! Oh well. I think that the money will work itself out, and this is the best investment I could possibly make in my future.
As far as wardrobe, for those of you not used to NC heat :)...I'm going to wear a nice button down shirt and slacks with comfortable shoes. I can't imagine wearing a suit in 85% humidity!!!
Anyone else out there going to be going on the 1st?
Congratulations, everyone! I also RSVP'd for August 5th and did not receive a confirmation. Sounds like I'm in good company. I will be arriving from the West Coast on the morning of Thursday, August 4th. If anyone else is arriving early and would be interested in meeting up for lunch or dinner, please feel free to send me a message. I look forward to meeting many of you and wish all of you the best in your interviews!

Did anyone receive the confirmation email from Survey Monkey after you scheduled your interview? I didn't and I just wanted to be sure that I'm not the only one! I'm so excited!
