My acceptance letter also showed courses which I had already taken. I just email Ben about it this morning.

Hi, where did you see the courses on the acceptance letter? I only see "Any unsatisfied courses are listed below. Satisfactory grades must be reported no later than two weeks prior to the start of the semester." But nothing below it.

Not sure. I am hoping that there would be some normalcy (let's hope) by then. There was a lady who posted here a few weeks, who's currently in the program, and said that the first semester is full of lectures and lab to learn all the materials which will prepare us for our clinical on the second semester about 2-3 days a week.

Hi! I'm still here (the person currently in the program). As far as the format for the Spring semester... that decision has not been released to students yet. We don't even know what format our fall semester will be and that is less than 2 months away.

Also, I wanted to clarify a few things just in case I didn't explain it well in my previous response. Keep in mind that this is based on my experience and there are a lot of things that could change for your cohort due to obvious reasons. The first semester is around 12 weeks. For the first 6 weeks, class is 3 days per week and lab is 2 days per week. For the last 6 weeks, you will go to clinical in a hospital one day per week, lab will be one day per week, and class will still be 3 days per week. There is one other class in the first semester that has a handful of short clinical experiences out in the community (like I said, this could definitely be different for you because of COVID). The dates for these experiences will be different for everyone and they are kind of sprinkled here and there throughout the semester (over the entire 12 weeks, but not every week). Therefore, you may have one clinical day in the hospital and one clinical experience in the community in one week during the last 6 weeks of the first semester. Most weeks are just the one day in the hospital. If the program stays the same, you will not have more than one clinical day in the hospital per week until the fourth semester. First semester is mostly adult care. Second semester is maternal/newborn health and peds. These are specialties so you won't really prepare clinically for those until you actually get to the second semester. I hope this makes sense. I remember being totally confused when I got my class schedule before the first semester. It will all make a lot more sense when you get here. Btw, CONGRATS to everyone that got accepted!

It was right below "Any unsatisfied courses are listed below. Satisfactory grades must be reported no later than two weeks prior to the start of the semester". I am currently taking A&P II so I have that course to complete, but if you had finished all your pre-reqs I don't think it would have had any classes listed.

Ben emailed me back and just said it was mistake and removed the courses which I had already completed from my acceptance letter.

@Km477 Did you apply to any other schools besides Duke? I am struggling with the fact tuition is $20k a semester, and just wondering if a cheaper public school would be a better/equal option. I am not having much luck with finding possible scholarships or tuition reimbursement programs outside of the Duke hospital (25k for 3 years of service). Thank you for all your help!

Those of you who have payed the deposit and received the email to set up your NetID, have you been able to access your Duke email?

I have a personal question about the program, is there anyway you can PM me? I tried to send it you one but it said I'm allowed 0 messages per day and to try again later.

Please let me know.

Thank you -

Can we do a roll call and tell us where you're from?

If you live out of state, have you figure out you're living situation?

Are you planning to work while going to school so you have supplemental income?

Anybody else on here that were accepted and may not attend anymore due to the cost of attendance?

I have lived in NC for 15 years. I'm currently about 2 hours away from Duke, so I plan on moving closer for school. I have started looking at surrounding areas because I don't mind commuting some.

Although it would be nice to have some income while in school, I plan on not working, as I want to focus solely on school.

The cost of attendance is quite high... but I have already committed and hope to get at least some financial aid. I plan on taking out student loans and of course I will apply to scholarships!

Thank you! Make sense. I have finished all my prerequisites. So it is left blank.
