Anyone else applying to Duke's ABSN program for Spring 2015? As we're approaching the application deadline, I thought it would be great to get a conversation started. If anyone is currently in the program, I would love to hear your thoughts about the program as well.
Anyone else get the e-mail invite to the webinar on Thursday, June 26th at 4:00p.m? It's nothing official in the decision process, just a kind of Q&A about the program, financial aid, etc:
learn about the ABSN program at the Duke University School of Nursing. Admissions staff and financial aid staff will be on hand to discuss the application review and notification process, along with the financial aid process. This webinar will help answer questions you may have regarding the ABSN program and you will not want to miss it.
I'll probably be able to "attend" so I can relay info here if someone can't.
Hi all!!
I applied to the ABSN program for spring15 too!!! Although I am a lil worried on how I am going to pay for it if accepted. I'm thinking that I will have to take out massive amounts of loans and enter into a federal loan repayment program when I graduate. Any thoughts or advice?
Thanks
I am probably going to be mostly self-pay... Going through their Tuition Mgmt System. I will probably get some financial aid... but...knowing what I know about how much I will receive... its wont put much a dent in it. I would suggest Sallie Mae...it would be best if you can have a co-signer. They do have some ideas on the Duke website: Scholarships and Loans | Duke School of Nursing
However... this ALL assuming I get in hahaha
Hi everyone!
I recently applied to Duke as well for Spring 15'. I was accepted to another traditional 4 year program here in NC that starts in the fall, but it is 2.5 years long. Duke would be my dream, but whatever is meant to be is meant to be. That being said....I'm crossing my fingers that Duke is meant to be.

Robo.. Not sure about everyone but I think they are starting reviews.
As far as the gpa...As long as you used Total # hours / Quality Points = GPA you should have recieved an accurate calculation. This formula allows for weighting the number of hours completed to give a more accurate GPA. That was from a Duke Admission officer. It's not just 120 hrs it's all the gpa's from all colleges... From what I understand anyway. Also if you look online you will find out how to calculate it.
