Hello! I figured it was time to start this thread now that the application deadline is nearly here. Let us commence the stress and commiseration!
I finally submitted my Duke ABSN application yesterday after being away from my computer for months while traveling. I feel excited and hopeful, but the reality is that I won't be able to attend without a significant scholarship. I love Duke's program and my partner lives outside of Durham (I'm currently near Tucson, AZ) so this could be the perfect fit.
Nursing will be a second career for me--I'm 34. I'm curious whether most of my fellow applicants are younger or around my age?
Good luck everyone!

I can’t, unfortunately. Only the admins can. They took a while to accept me, too.

I got into all the programs that I applied to with a 3.1 GPA, all with scholarships including Duke and Johns Hopkins. It’s definitely possible.
I would definitely still apply! I had a 3.5 undergrad and took all my science prerequisites after undergrad and I think that GPA was in between a 3.0 and a 3.5. I can't remember but I think closer to 3.1. But I had a ton of hands on hospital patient care experience which I think really helped!

CONGRATS! I found out that I was accepted also. Do you know when/how we find out about financial aid decisions? I know we have to accept or deny by the 15th and that doesn’t give much time to weight options! I’m going crazy trying to decide what I want to do!! Grateful to have the choices though!

@l8r_sam My hopes were to always be CRNA. Do you say top 20 school due to competitiveness of crna/np programs?
I’m just wondering cause I know UNCG has a CRNA program, but their BSN program is definitely not in top 20. Do you not think they would accept a former student that did really well in their BSN program into their CRNA program? (This is just an example I decided to use cause I’m in NC and familiar with the schools and their programs in this area.)
yea definitely, top 20 just helps getting into programs not tied directly with where your attending.
Hi everyone! Student applying for Spring 2021 entrance here. I have a question about the personal statement application portion--did you guys use APA format? I don't see any requirements other than the font size and double spacing.
Thanks in advance! And good luck to everyone on their journey ? you guys rock!

That’s really all I went by on my application. I used a common font in the size they specified and double spaced. Normal 1 inch margins and placed the statement question as the header like they asked. Didn’t use any other special formatting.
