  1. I can’t remember what the exact wordage of the application instructions were last year, but I remember interpreting it as them wanting the question in the header. Since each question was just labeled “Question 1,” “Question 2,” etc., I decided on writing out the whole question. I did make the text smaller for that than my statement so it didn’t take up too much space. I didn’t use a title for any of my statements, as they are too short to need one and take up unnecessary space. Unless you have a REALLY good, catchy title, don’t put one—just focus on your answer. Hope this makes sense and helps!
  2. That’s really all I went by on my application. I used a common font in the size they specified and double spaced. Normal 1 inch margins and placed the statement question as the header like they asked. Didn’t use any other special formatting.
  3. @Hopefulnurse5233 did you ever get an answer about why @kat105 regrets Duke? I know a bit of time has passed since these posts but I am unable to send PMs and I’m really battling my decision of attending Duke or not right now. I was accepted for this fall and I’m just not sure if the cost is worth it. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to apply for UNC because one of my prerequisites is about 6 months too old, but I was accepted into UNCG; I just know this school isn’t quite the caliber of UNC or Duke...
  4. @l8r_sam My hopes were to always be CRNA. Do you say top 20 school due to competitiveness of crna/np programs? I’m just wondering cause I know UNCG has a CRNA program, but their BSN program is definitely not in top 20. Do you not think they would accept a former student that did really well in their BSN program into their CRNA program? (This is just an example I decided to use cause I’m in NC and familiar with the schools and their programs in this area.)
  5. CONGRATS! I found out that I was accepted also. Do you know when/how we find out about financial aid decisions? I know we have to accept or deny by the 15th and that doesn’t give much time to weight options! I’m going crazy trying to decide what I want to do!! Grateful to have the choices though!
  6. I thought the faculty/staff was much more beneficial than the student panel, to be honest. I ended up leaving the student panel about 45 minutes in because I thought they were repeating the same things a lot and it also just wasn't as well organized as the faculty/staff. It made me a little nervous because I was excited about the school after hearing what the faculty had to say, but immediately lost a lot of interest after hearing the students speak. I'm just not sure the extra cost of the Duke education is worth it when I could also go to a UNC-affiliated school for a fraction of the cost.
  7. Durham (and Chapel Hill/Raleigh) both have a lot of places for going out! I lived in Durham for about 3.5 years and have lived a little farther west for the past year but still go to the area to go out every once in a while. Duke Admissions said they will make the FB page after the official deadline date for accepting/rejecting admission--so I guess around April 1st
