Duke ABSN Fall 2011

Hi all!

I know its early and the application isn't due until December 1st, but I was wondering if there was anyone else out there applying to the Duke ABSN program to start in August of 2011! I've already read through some of the previous semesters' threads and it seems like a great outlet for discussion/ questions/ nerves!

Let me know :)

How is everyone able to afford this? Just curious - I'm going to Rochester's accelerated program and it's so expensive! Most people are taking out 60-70K in loans - same for Duke?

Hey everyone. I haven't seen much activity on this board for a WHILE but if there are any waitlisters still out there reading, "she" sent out an email saying that the program director will be making the last decision for the waitlist on July 25th. I don't know if that means we should expect an email thatday or not but we should know very close to that time.

I received the same email earlier today. I will be glad to hear one way or another because the wait has been very long for us (and don't classes start in about a month???)...:-)...the way I took the email is that the latest we would know is Monday by the close of business or sooner. So best case scenario we know tomorrow or Friday. Worst case scenario we wait the weekend and find out Monday. I'm trying to be optimistic and hope we all get in!

I'm really hoping they saw some movement! I would love to start this August...if not then I have my interview next Friday for the Spring session. Anyone else interviewing again?

I decided not to re-interview only because I asked 'her' SO many times whether it was truly necessary. She said that she did not want waitlist candidates to feel that it is necessary to attend another interview. I took her answer as a 'no, but you can of you really want to.' I wish she could tell me my interview score so I can know whether it's something that held me back or not, but I don't think she's going to share that info. Anyway, good luck to you on your second interview and I hope you kill it! Are you going in person or doing a phone interview?

Congrats!!! That is so awesome! I'm surprised they sent out emails over thee weekend but definitely not complaining (lol). I haven't heard anything yet but I'm right after you on the waitlist. Now I'm really crossing my fingers. :yeah:

Thank you SO much everyone. I was going crazy with all the waiting and waiting!! I'm just glad it's over for now. I'm still following this thread and pulling for everyone to hear good news. My letter told me that I have until July 25th to contact them with a decision and formally decide on the application. Hopefully everyone will hear something by then. I got the email at 3:47pm on Friday. I didn't read the email until 3:47 Saturday morning. I have a feeling that they'll be true to their word and notify everyone by Monday.
