Duke ABSN Fall 2011

Hi all!

I know its early and the application isn't due until December 1st, but I was wondering if there was anyone else out there applying to the Duke ABSN program to start in August of 2011! I've already read through some of the previous semesters' threads and it seems like a great outlet for discussion/ questions/ nerves!

Let me know :)

Okay I might just burst if we don't hear from Duke soon!

Did anyone else apply to Chapel Hill? I got this weird email about how they're cutting their enrollment by 25% and now the ABSN program is only available for January enrollment!

If I had any doubt about where I wanted to go before now I know for sure

I just got a Spring informational email! WHY are they trying to give me a heart attack? I thought it was THE email. Any of you planning on going to this thing?

I flipped out when I saw that email! :) and then I logged onto my application because last year's cohort found out around noon and something is wrong with my application. It started an entirely new one for me. I think i clicked the wrong button. :( I hope it gets resolved!!!

Haha I got the info session email too and my heart skipped a beat...not cool hahaha! I think whether I go or not depends on whether or not I get in!

On second thought, I doubt anyone from this potential cohort will want to go since we all just came from Duke Days... Perhaps the phone interview candidates, though.

I believe the Info Session is different from our ABSN Duke Day in that it covers all of the Nursing School programs. I went to the ABSN info session after sitting in the lobby and talking with some of the nurses who were going on to the Masters level. Gave me ideas of what I might want to do in the future and what opportunities were available for me after getting my BSN. I may go to the Spring session to find out more about the other programs.

Well, off to the middle school to volunteer at the Book Fair. Hope we hear from Duke soon. :)

I hope that we find out today b/c the anticipation is driving me nuts! I had went to the first information session and I had wrote down in my notes that the meeting would be on the 14th and we would not find out until the 16th or 17th. I thought that I also remember them saying that if we are accepted that our financial aid package would also be known then. Maybe they need another day to organize that still?? Did anyone hear or write down anything different??

I went to Duke Days on the 21st of January and I wrote down that they told us on the 15th. This being said, they continuously mentioned "the middle of the month". I've been trying to call them all day, but the lines are busy. Maybe one of you all got through and found something out! Let us know!!!

The anticipation is definitely distracting me from what I am supposed to be doing!!! AHhhhhh!!

Well, that's good! I hope I wrote down the wrong dates then, or maybe it was for something else with financial aid... The sooner the better!! I am distracted from my work too, it's terrible!!!!

I just emailed someone. I hope they get back to me with the answer we are all waiting on! I'll let you know what they say!
