Hi all!
I know its early and the application isn't due until December 1st, but I was wondering if there was anyone else out there applying to the Duke ABSN program to start in August of 2011! I've already read through some of the previous semesters' threads and it seems like a great outlet for discussion/ questions/ nerves!
Let me know :)
I'm with you, evaamber, the sooner the better. I've already prepped my boyfriend if its bad news, he is to bring home chocolate, wine, sushi (I know, weird comfort food), flowers and a romantic comedy.
i like your thinking.. maybe i'll tell mine the same. hey, does anyone have any recommendations for completing a microbiology pre-req online? I need to do it ASAP, since one of the school's i was accepted to starts WAY earlier than I had budgeted my time for.
Hey everyone - I'm a current Duke ABSNer student and definitely used this blog a lot to ask questions re: admissions when I was applying. I just wanted to chime in and say, you all probably did fine on your interview day! Everyone I know in the program felt weird after at least one of them - it felt hard to tell what they were looking for. But honestly, everyone in the school is SO diverse that their criteria seems to be looking for just well rounded interesting people. That doesn't mean you have to have work experience as a CNA (though many people do) or have a PhD (though some people do too!!), it just means they want to see common sense and potential in you. Now, you should all relax and watch the Duke vs. UNC game tonight because it is going to be awesome and if you do end up at Duke, basketball it is going to become an integral part of your student life!!!

Thanks *elmo* for the encouragement! That was a great game! Just a couple more days to go before hearing back from admissions, eek! So how do you like the program? Which track (Medical Spanish or Research) did you chose? Anything you wish you would have known going into the program?
This weekend has absolutely DRAGGED. It's been a nice one but I can't concentrate on enjoying it when we could potentially be getting exciting news on Monday. Good thing it's already Sunday. I also hope everyone was able to at least somewhat enjoy their weekend without Duke on the brain!
I'm actually pretty sure evaamber is correct. At my Duke Day on Feb 4th I definitely heard them say they'd be MEETING on the 14th. My guess is that the latest the first round of admissions will receive notification is this Friday.
And the child in me shook a Magic 8 ball which informed me that "All signs point to yes" to tomorrow being the big day. You know, just if anyone buys into that stuff
Happy Valentine's Day Ladies! (and Gents)
