I am a Registered Nurse in the state of Maryland. I got a DUI in july 2013 and got a PBJ upon hearing. I just got a letter from Maryland board of nursing (MBON) asking for additional information for investigation. I have been in my best behavior since my DUI. I was not much of a party girl to begin with; just some really poor decision. I just got my life back and now this. What is going to happen to my license?

I was wondering what PBJ is too. ha.
Anyway, I don't know much about Maryland, but I know people that have been in worse legal situations that did not lose their license, so you probably don't have to worry about that. At worst you may have to do some kind of professional assistance program, but if that one DUI is the only thing on your record even that is doubtful. So unless Maryland is just super harsh about this stuff, you're probably just going to have to answer some questions but will be okay.
Needless to say though, lay off the drinking and driving!

Don't stress ! I received a DUI while in nursing school in 2012 and when I graduated last year I had no problem getting my license... I blew a .10 sent in all my paperwork and an explanation and it took about a month but I received my license :) just do nottttt make the same mistake again !

Yeah Maryland BON isnt so bad. I applied for my CNA license and had a previous DUI. That was my only incident on my background check....I had to give them all my court documents and write a statement about what happened. I was honest in my statement....Diet pills+lack of food+happy hour=DUI! It was just a careless judgment error on my part. I had to wait about 2-3 weeks before you find out the decision. They dont call you or write you or anything...You have to check your license status on the BON website like everyday!! Then one day it will be there! Thats how mine happened! I know of nurses who had way worse than you and they kept their license! I hope this helps! Good luck!

Hi @ritam1
i know now this is a long dead thread but I hope this reaches you.
Did you apply for a license in Md? Elsewhere? Was there any difficulty or restrictions?
If you could follow up with what happened it would be valuable to me and other people who are in a similar situation.
Hope you’re well!
