I have a bottle of cough syrup with codiene and phenergan in it, it was prescribed to me on 6/21. I took some of it on 8/8 because I couldn't sleep and I had to be up earlier than usual for a new job the next day. On 8/9 I went to orientation for RN school and had to give a urine sample for a drug screen. I received a call today that I need to provide prescriptions for all meds I am taking. Not a problem, I can get a copy of the prescription. My worry is that since is was prescribed for something acute almost 2 months ago . . . is that gonna fly or I am I going to get the boot?

I don't know if you'll get the boot, but it's surely not gonna fly. Probably you don't have the symptoms it was for anymore. I think you have a reason to be concerned.
I doubt they will ask why you are taking the medication. As long as you have a current and valid script, you should be fine. If the script was 2 YEARS old, then you may have a problem, but 2 months, you're most likely ok.
UPDATE: Faxed over a list of meds from my pharmacy. Got a call from the program director, she hasn't seen the list yet but said as long as I have an RX that it isn't a problem and I had better show up for EPIC training today.
