Drexel ACE Program (Fall 2021)

Hey, guys its a bit early but wanted to open a chat so we could all talk about the Fall 2021 ACE program (11 months) at Drexel University! Feel free to share stats, questions, concerns, and more!

congratulations! If u don't mind answering, How long did this take since the time you applied? Were all your prereqs completed prior? I sent in my application last week but I still have chem outstanding

Thank you! I submitted everything on 10/21 and I just checked my portal today and it had a decision. I think others have said it takes about 3-4 weeks, so I would just keep checking! And yes I completed all of my prereqs before applying. I don't think one outstanding prereq is too bad, especially if you are doing well in the course!

Id love to go to Drexel, I've heard soo many good things. If I do get in, my only concern is the fees. It pretty pricey. Are you taking out private loans by any chance? Im having financial issues with family so Im trying to exhaust all my options in regards to tuition payment before resorting to loans as a last resort

I haven’t heard back and my app was completed 10/9 with 1 pre-req that I was currently taking (it was developmental psychology so it was a non-science pre-req). I’m with you on it being my top choice but concerned about payment I plan on applying to HRSA nurse corps scholarship as I’m currently doing a year of community service in a high need area and love the work but the scholarship seems very competitive so other than that my plan is swimming or should I say drowning in loans, but we shall see

Oh wow.  I think you should definitely hear soon. If not this week thenn next week latest because their site does say 4-6 weeks I believe. 

Yeah that scholarship is competitive but definitely worth a shot. I thought about that but im worried they may place me in an area that may not be too safe or I may not end up liking it and will end up stuck. Im so afraid of drowning in loans omggg, I wish there were large amounts of scholarships for ABSN students ? . I've never used loans before so this is new to me. Hopefully we find a way!

I really hope you get into the program and hear from them soon ?

I'm currently in Memphis and a lot of people warned me about living here.  So far I personally have not had any issues, a 7th grader at my school did unfortunately pass after a drive by shooting last week, but as long as you know the good parts of any city/ stick to the right crowd I think any city is what you make of it! Yes I am trying to be patient because I heard 4-6 weeks as well so I really hope I hear from them soon and you as well!

But you're right tbh, you just have to be street smart and know the good parts of the city. Best of luck!!

For the people that got accepted, what courses did you use for your english composition requirement? 

Did any of you use writing intensive social science courses? Ashley said she would not be able to answer this because courses are not evaluated until acceptance into the program which is kind of frustrating because I don't want to be in a situation where I find out my course will not be acceptable at the last minute.

My application is currently on hold as of 11/8 because I took one of my prereqs at nursing school and they would like to verify that I was not an actual nursing student. The school where I took the prerequisites submitted the form to Drexel on Tuesday. If anyone has had this happen, how long did it take for Drexel to return with an admissions decision?

I was in a previous nursing program and had to get a form filled out stating I hadn't failed out or been kicked out for misconduct. Once Drexel had that form returned, I heard back in less than a week. Fingers crossed for you!

Hi y'all!

I am a NJ resident and I submitted my application nov. 11!
My current stats: 

Cum. GPA: 3.36

I have taken all of my prereq. classes except for microbio, which I am in the process of taking right now and I'll be done by December. My prerequisite GPA is around a 3.5. I have experience working in a nursing home and then I was very involved with volunteering around my campus. 

I emailed Ashley and she said there are still seats available for Fall 2021!

Hoping we will all be classmates next year!! 

Also, if anyone is taking the course right now and would like to say how the curriculum is, that would be helpful!
