Drexel ACE Fall 2010

U.S.A. Pennsylvania

Has anyone heard back from for the fall 2010 class? My husband attended the info session for me a few weeks ago (he works in Philly and I had to work late), and he loved the school. On their website it says you have to have 7 pre-reqs completed prior to applying, but then it says they will not review transcripts until after you are accepted. Does anyone have any info on this?

Great :lol2:!!I will send in my resume and list of courses in progress tomorrow! Have you been accepted already? if so, how long did it take to hear back?

I actually just finished the program in Sept...happy to report that I survived and am employed in my first choice specialty. :)

Don't be afraid to call the admissions office and follow up on your application...when I applied, one of my friends heard a month before I did, and it turned out that one of my transcripts had been lost and my app was still on hold. I finally got accepted in January after applying in October.

Good luck!

wow...CONGRATULATIONs......I hope its not too late to apply for the fall semester. Feb. is really pushing it..I tried calling the admission office but i believe the school was closed today. So the community college that am planning to take the classes at consider A&P as one class but i saw on the website that the anatomy & Physiology were two seperate classes. how then will they evaluate the two classes together?

Thanks again for your help..i super appreciate it

The A&P requirement either has to be 1 semester of anatomy and 1 semester of physiology, or 1 semester of A&P I and 1 semester of A&P II. I took A&P I and A&P II, both at a community college.

Do you live in the Philly area? If so, has a list of classes from local schools that fulfill the pre-reqs.

Don't get too caught up in the admissions timeline, I know people who were accepted for my fall class in April.

oh my goodness...you are giving me awesome advices.

I live in GA but am willing to move...Drexel is my first choice! I think i read a post earlier today saying that does not look at your application until you have A&P and microbiology completed..i hope that is false.

I moved to go to too, and ended up staying after I graduated.

Things may have changed, but I definitely didn't have A&P or micro completed when I applied. Just get your application in, follow up with the school - keep a record of who you speak to and what you send in, and you should be fine in terms of deadlines. The website just says that you need the pre-reqs completed two months before classes start: http://www.drexel.edu/cnhp/nursing/undergrad_ace_criteria.asp

I remember how nerve-wracking the application process was, but do your best to relax and keep a positive attitude...you're doing everything you can to get in, and making yourself crazy isn't going to help!

I might end up staying too once i graduate...but yea the application process is nerve wracking and believe me, lots of sleepless nights! Hopefully everything will fall in place soon.

Thank you so much for all the relpies..they are all helpful.

Waka- are you applying to any schools in GA? My family lives there, and I just LOVE it. I've never even been to Philly, so i really don't know what I am getting myself into with . I've been to NYC and DC many times, and have heard philly is just a scaled down version of the two.

I have not been to Philly either so i guess we in the same boat. I am applying for Lagrange college in GA. but it is a traditional program so is going to take 2years.

Hello Everyone!!!

Since finding out that I got accepted into the fall 2010 class, I can’t stay away from this thread. The info given has been very helpful. I am SO EXCITED :) to start the program!!! I wish that I could start tomorrow even though I still have so much left to do. Does anyone know of any good not so expensive studio apartments in the Philly area? I’m from the Midwest and have idea where to start looking.

Best of luck to everyone! I look forward to meeting all entering the program in the fall.
