Drexel ACE Fall 2010

U.S.A. Pennsylvania

Has anyone heard back from for the fall 2010 class? My husband attended the info session for me a few weeks ago (he works in Philly and I had to work late), and he loved the school. On their website it says you have to have 7 pre-reqs completed prior to applying, but then it says they will not review transcripts until after you are accepted. Does anyone have any info on this?

Hello everyone!

I have the same question... my science gpa is 3.1, total undergraduate gpa is 2.9, last 60 credits gpa is 3.2.

Do they just look at the last 60 credits or overall gpa? I have heard they look at both?

Any input is appreciated!

Hospitals can be anywhere in the Philadelphia region, and that does include the surrounding counties and south Jersey. For the second third quarters you will have two FULL days of classes, and three days of clinicals. Those clinical days can be Wed, Thur, Fri, AND/OR Sat, days OR evenings. Nothing is tougher than coming back from an evening clinical at 10ish, and getting up at 5am to head to a clinical next morning. First quarter is one clinical, and last quarter is two clinicals and one lab day.

Two sets of scrubs are definately plenty, and I honestly only used my lab coat for ONE clinical. Unless you feel the overwhelming urge to, don't buy the safety goggles, or the bandage scissors, if you need them, the clinical sites will have it.

I don't know how many people on average apply to , the fall class usually begins with 180 people, and the spring class usually begins with 90.

Drexel will take a look at last 60 hourse of course work, heavily focusing on science classes. If you did well on those, then you are going to be fine.

Hope that answered some questions.

I applied for the Fall 2011 class (lots of pre-reqs to finish). Does anyone know when I'd be most likely to find out? Will it not be till after October 15th?

Thanks!

We may be classmates ... I was accepted to Spring 2011 but plan to defer to fall. Though finances will dictate whether I will end up going. I applied last March and just found out last week. Make sure you finish your sciences and get your final grades in for those ASAP. On my end they did not make a decision until they saw the last of my sciences completed.

Just thought I'd throw this out there for anyone about to start the ACE program...I graduated last fall and just found a bunch of books in my closet. I'm not familiar with the current book list, but I have a med-surg text, health promotions, leadership, informatics, HESI, Saunders NCLEX review, a couple of "Made Incredibly Easy" books, two care plan books, women's health. If anyone wants them, let me know!

I will be beginning the program this fall :) I faxed my registration but I have not seen the classes posted on One yet, also has anyone else received a bill? I am very excited, I can't wait to meet you all! I will be new to the area.

I sent my registration paper in last week and got my class schedule a few days afterward. Also the bill was posted for the upcoming quarter semester.

Lexus,

Where abouts will you be housing? In the city or outside? Jersey or PA?

In the Chestnut Hill area with a friend who is from Philadephia (Northeast I believe). I'm really excited. I can't wait to meet everyone in the program.

I was admitted with a 3.08 GPA with a low science GPA. I also sent my resume and letters of recommendation so that may have helped. GOOD LUCK!

I know this post is coming months later, but where did you send your resume etc?

Hi All!

I will be starting the program in the Spring of 2011. To get a jump on things since my prereqs are all done, do any current ACERS have any powerpoints, notes, tips from class they can send to me? If so, please private message me. Any help to get jump started on the program would be A - M - A - Z - I - N - G!!!

:lol2:
