Drexel ACE Fall 2010

U.S.A. Pennsylvania

Published

Has anyone heard back from for the fall 2010 class? My husband attended the info session for me a few weeks ago (he works in Philly and I had to work late), and he loved the school. On their website it says you have to have 7 pre-reqs completed prior to applying, but then it says they will not review transcripts until after you are accepted. Does anyone have any info on this?

The total cost is $38,100.

Thanks! is my back up to NYU which is over 60g, not including cost of living (which is like 30g), so obviously I'm looking at Drexel more closely ;-)

Yikes! That's more than I thought. Hmm...Jefferson's cheaper. I may have to apply there after all.

magkano po ba tuition fee sa manila doctors. i'm planning na magtransfer dun..pls. i need to know..asap. and if there's anyone who knows the curriculum there..pls. reply..pls..

Elle, NYU was my first choice too, but the cost has deterred me. Last I checked, I thought it was around $70k. I would love to go there, but I just can't commit myself to paying that much for a year of school, which is why I decided to move back to Philly for school.

Just checked their tuition and fees. They charge about $20k per semester and $1,078 for each summer credit, which is another $11k (didn't check the fees, though). So it's at least $71k for the program.

xlford,

i would like to speak w/ a recent graduate on du's program. im unsure how to pm you. maybe if you pm first i can reply? any other grads of the program are welcomed to pm me as well. i put my deposit down, but now sure if it's for me.

thanks

Thanks for the info! I don't want to hijack this thread, but I will say quickly that I applied early on and still have not heard from NYU, so I am doubtful. I think they are using me as a back up plan, like an unspoken wait list ;-) It may be a blessing in disguise due to the sheer cost. I am now applying to for Spring..While I would prefer fall, I did not realize that you could still apply after the October deadline, had I known I would have applied back in January! I am finishing up my pre-reqs this week and I have straight A's in all sciences, a B in stat, and a less than stellar undergrad. There's no way that I could get in to Drexel for THIS fall, right? I hate to waste a full year stagnating when I'm done with my prereqs and ready to proceed! Anyway thanks for listening ;-)

I suppose you could try to get in for Fall 2010, but I think I read on here that there's a wait list for it. I think it's on this thread. Well, if you go in the spring, we might be classmates! :) I applied for spring 2010 and should know in a few weeks whether or not I'm accepted.

Good luck with wrapping up your pre-reqs! Wish I was finished! If you're itching for something to do between now and next spring, I guess you could get another job to help pay for school. :D If I could, I would. I have no time as it is, though.

Hi! I was thinking of getting a job as unit secretary in a hospital to get some connections for jobs post graduation, and also maybe taking Physics & the GRE to make me a better candidate for grad school...was even thinking of taking patho and pharm and seeing if would let me place out of them...so much to consider..the job market is tight and my rent is oh so high ;-) What prereqs are you going to take this coming year? I'm also thinking of applying to MCPHS in Mass, which begins in Jan, but goes 16 months.

Elle

For those of you who have been accepted and may be interested in sharing housing (maybe 4 of us or so) feel free to drop me a PM. I currently live in Philadelphia and in my search so far I've found a lot of good options. I was thinking of either University City or the Art Museum area with us paying around $500/person. This way there will be free on street parking and also a close proximity to the campus. Looking forward to meeting you all!

I thought about getting a job as a unit secretary too, but am not sure about changing jobs at this point. But I know what you mean about making connections, since I know that's a large part of it.

I have to finish Stats and will take Chem I in the fall. I plan to CLEP Ethics and Dev. Psych. It's certainly worth asking if you could take some classes and see if Drexel will let you out of them. Great idea!

I haven't heard about the program in MA. That's too far north for me - too cold!! :-P Either way, even if you do have to wait until spring, that time will fly by. You could enjoy a break before giving your life over to school.

Rent in NYC is super high, which is why I moved to NJ. I don't like it as much as the city, but I have a view of the city and am not far away. You could always move over here and save some money for a year. At least you have some options before school starts. :-)

When you applied to Ace did you have 7 prereqs completed?
