Nurses General Nursing

Hi everyone:

I just wanted to start a fun thread for once (mine are usually venting about my job hehe)...

I'm curious... What would your dream job be if you weren't an RN?

I'll go first: I'd love to own a little boutique by the beach or in a city. I love the idea of owning my own business and I think it would be fun!

anyone else have a dream job? :)

Specializes in CDI Supervisor; Formerly NICU.

It'll be gone before you know it. Seize the moment.

Travel writer (which I still want to do) or translator at the UN. I love languages and live for travelling.

I have my Spanish degree, & also managed to learn Portuguese as a result of living in South America & befriending Brasilians. I would love to learn Italian also and maybe French. That said:

one dream job would be to be an interpreter with the UN, or even better for FIFA (worldwide soccer organization).

other dream job to be the nurse, PT, ANYTHING for the LA Galaxy or US Men's soccer team.

Specializes in Advanced Practice, surgery.

I would be a motorcycle test rider :D

Specializes in hospice, HH, LTC, ER,OR.
I would be a Walmart greeter...how fun and stress free to say " hello and welcome to Walmart" and hand out smiley stickers to kids....yup, that's my dream job :smokin:

I was a greeter at Sam's club.. whole nother ballgame.. none wants to speak or let you check the receipts on the way out.. its extremely cold in front of those doors in the winter, needless to say after a year I transfer to photo..lol

Specializes in hospice, HH, LTC, ER,OR.
I'd love to be a mum. Hopefully I can actually manage that one day, producing child is harder than it seems sometimes :(

me too.. also a wife

Specializes in ED, Telemetry,Hospice, ICU, Supervisor.
Combat Medic. Might sound stupid to some but I wish if I could go back in time, I would have enlisted straight out of HS and started a military career. I see my friends come back and every single one of them has recounted stories of how amazing their medics were and I have a love of medicine no way around it. Serve our country, save lives, what more could I ask for?

LOL , I enlisted as an ARMY Combat Medic right out of high school and I look back and say to myself I should have gone to college first.

Specializes in Emergency Dept. Trauma. Pediatrics.

If I didn't have children and couldn't get my dream job in the FBI I would have joined the Navy in the medical field. I would have a hard time putting up with all the discipline. But I grew up being seen in Military Hospitals up until 10 years ago. I think the military is a great route if your making a career out of it. Granted I am a bit biased since I come from a very strong military family.

I'd be a marine biology major and work for the conservation of manatees. I'd swim with large marine animals every work day and take samples, track little baby manatee's and record their progress. ^.^ Stuff like that. Or maybe Sea Turtles too, they're pretty nice.

Specializes in None yet!.

I'd be a princess! That's a job, right? :cheeky:

And I'd also like to open a pet grooming business.

Traveling traveling more traveling around the world and pictures!!!!! Just relaxing!

Specializes in Gerontological, cardiac, med-surg, peds.

Farmer, professional gardener, or botanist.

Interior Designer or Pastry Chef......either job would be lovely.
