Don't post your personal info in threads!!

I realize that many people love to share their tips, tricks or notes that helped with the NCLEX/TEAS/whatnot, but this is a PUBLIC forum, and a great place for spammers to collect e-mail addresses, especially in these threads where a zillion people are posting them. Keep yourself protected and your info private!! If you must share e-mail addresses, send them privately to someone.

Same goes for using your real name for your SN, or your photo for your avatar- protect yourself!

From the posting rules: For your protection, do not post real names, phone numbers, or email addresses.

*stepping down from my soapbox*

Carry on.

I can only say that this seems like such sensible information it's a shame it has to be said!

It's really a privacy issue and with the rising cyber identity thief, hackers and spammers,it's always a risk...

Thank you for this reminder. With all the spam-bots scanning websites for email addresses and other personal information, it would be wise if people limited what they divulged.

Keep in mind that we also have a private messaging system that all members can use once they have accrued a minimum of 15 quality posts.

not to mention it's a good place for employers to spy on you. With enough information they can piece together who you are and "test" you to see if you would break HIPPA or any other of their policies.

Yes! This exact scenario happened on another thread. A member included more than enough identifying information in her post, and was subsequently discovered by her employer.

Any astute person can read a post with too much information and put two and two together to come up with you!
