Hey y'all,

Starting a thread for students applying to DUofCA's BSN program for Fall 2021 to share questions and concerns. Application deadline is Feb 1st for Freshmen and March 1st for Transfers. Good luck to everyone!

I ordered my official transcripts yes.  They will also accept Unofficial transcripts for evaluation.  I believe they will contact you, but I made an appointment with a counselor for Friday to ask anyhow.  As soon as I get info I will post it. 

If you have questions list them and I will attempt to get them answered.

I will also ask people on previous boards who applied.

I requested my official transcripts and sent them over to the admission of DUC. Once they get your transcripts, I believe they recorded when they received into the site. Before I submit the application, I was able to see the address of the admission but then once I log in now, It just automatically lead me to go to other pages now which I can see something like this.

To everyone else you go to admitted transfer students.  From there go to the PENGUIN PORTAL.  enter in your email and password.  Everything shows up.

Hi everyone! I am so happy I found this forum. ? I recently submitted my application (this is my first round) and I'm so anxious about it. I'm wondering what are your guys' stats? Mine is: 

- 3.97 overall GPA

- Working as Peer Instructional Leader (at my college) and Special Education Instructional Assist. (at an elementary school district)

- Volunteer at Crisis Text Line and Homecare Facility 

- AS Health Science (graduating this May with 2 other AA degrees) 

- Trilingual (English, another language, and a dialect of that language) if that helps somehow

Do you think this should be enough?

Thanks for sharing. I think your GPA and volunteer experience are very competitive! Did you transfer all your official transcripts? ?

I just submitted my application yesterday. I turned in my unofficial transcript on the portal and I also requested an official transcript from my college to be mailed to them. I'm a bit anxious because they might not receive it before the March 1 deadline, but I read on their website that unofficial transcripts are okay. Do you think they would automatically deny my application if it's still "awaiting" by March 1st?

I also have another question. Did you guys submit proof of work and volunteer hours on the portal after submitting your application? I don't see anything about it on the drop-down menu under "uploads", but I'm just curious.

Hi @mpnrnmd,

Did you upload your unofficial transcripts *after* you submitted your application? It might take them a few days to process. I mailed mine in and it took six days to see the green check next to my transcripts in the portal.

I did not submit proof of my volunteer hours. I don't remember seeing that request anywhere.

Hi everyone, I submitted my application yesterday as a transfer student and I am really nervous because I applied to a number of nursing programs that are mostly CSUs and Dominican is the only private university I’ve applied to.

My prerequisites GPA is 4.0. I’m not exactly sure how they calculate the cumulative because I went to 2 community colleges so I just did an average of my overall which is 3.64. I’m done with Microbiology and statistics. I’m currently doing Nutrition this semester. I have 2 LOR and submitted a resume. I’m also bilingual but IDK how they would verify that.

I’ve been working as a CNA for almost 7 years with experience in SNF and hospital care setting. I was also in an ADN program in CT for a year in good standing before I decided to move back to the bay area to live closer to family. Before I started my ADN program, I had 4.0 GPA. Nursing school is very difficult, but I got B’s in nursing classes that’s why it dragged my overall GPA down. I’ve been trying to get into nursing programs here in CA and wow it’s so hard. I’m trying my luck at Dominican for BSN… I hope we all get in!

Good luck! I hope all of us here get in. I also applied to USF this sem, since most of the CSUs that I'm trying to get into are not accepting Nursing applications for next sem. I'm wondering what your stats are?
