Dominican University of California Fall 2021

Published

Hey y'all,

Starting a thread for students applying to DUofCA's BSN program for Fall 2021 to share questions and concerns. Application deadline is Feb 1st for Freshmen and March 1st for Transfers. Good luck to everyone!

I’ve submitted everything and noticed that it says Spring 21 San Mateo County School District as “awaiting”.

I emailed the transfer counselor about my application and about the new “awaiting” on my checklist; he said my application was being reviewed and not to worry about Spring 21’ because we are currently in it.

Not sure if that’s a good sign that they want my grades this semester but also confused why they would want those grades unless they are pushing my application forward. ? just anxious

Did you complete any pre requisite classes from the college in San Mateo county?

So you don’t have to submit anything for the “awaiting” check mark?

I believe this is a good sign that they are reviewing your application. When I see mine, it just says “we are currently reviewing your application and if we need something, we will contact you”. I am worried too now. ?

I’ve completed my pre-reqs. Currently taking other classes just in case I need to apply to Samuel Merrit if I don’t get in this application round.

They recently added “Spring 21 San Mateo County District” to my check list and it shows as a red “x”.

He said not to worry about since we are currently in it. So I’m not sure what that means? Also, I submitted my application really early.

Don’t be worried! I’m sure it’s early. If you think about it, the application deadline was only a month from today. I think end of April and beginning of May seems realistic. I haven’t heard back from any of the other schools yet. So I just hope to get into one.

Thank you. I am going to apply to Samuel this June if I didn't get into the Dominican. Let's hope for the best!

According to their website, Dominican offers merit scholarships which undergraduate students are automatically considered for. Scholarships ranges between 10K to 20K depending on your GPA.

That is really nice! Thanks for sharing with us. I wonder how many applicants applied this time.
Do you guys live close by? I really hope we all get in!

Has anyone heard anything yet ? I am so anxious awaiting admission decisions

I haven’t got it yet. Me too. I will post it here if I hear anything from them.

I’m really nervous because it seems many applicants have volunteer hours or work at a hospital already. I didn’t realize how competitive it was. I thought getting good grades would be enough but it seems it’s not.

Also, are decisions being mailed out by email or snail mail?

I am not sure how they are going to deliver the message. I read 2021 Spring forum and it looks like they got notified via penguin portal site.

I don’t have work experience. I decided to change my career and hope they would give me an opportunity.

I hope so too... ughh this is nerve wracking and now I’m second guessing my essay... it should have been stronger ugghhh. Well good luck, I hope you get in ♥️
