Hey y'all,

Starting a thread for students applying to DUofCA's BSN program for Fall 2021 to share questions and concerns. Application deadline is Feb 1st for Freshmen and March 1st for Transfers. Good luck to everyone!

I wondered the same. I contacted Robert but he’s out of the office...I’ll let you know what he says.

Hi! For the first time I got rejected from the program, I also got offered my alternative major. I asked about becoming and student and if that helps becoming accepted into the next cohort. The nursing head told me that internal transfers has become very common now and you are still competing against everyone applying. It may help if you get to know the faculty, otherwise it might just be a bigger load on costs.

Hey! What was your alternative major? Did you reapply for nursing program and get in or did you continue with your alternative major?

Anyone here got accepted to their Nursing program already? I wonder why they don't release results all at once. I've seen many people got their decisions (mostly denied to the Nursing program but accepted to the school). There are still no updates for me on my portal. This is getting me anxious ?

Are you a first-year student? Transfer? If you’re a first-year student (straight out of high school), your chances of being admitted are greater for Fall semester. Only a few seats are reserved for transfers for Fall semester. The rest are offered to first-year students. That’s because freshmen = more $$$$ for the university (they’re enrolled at the university for 8-9 semesters vs 6 semesters for transfers). That also means more seats will likely become available to transfers for Spring semester because freshmen don’t traditionally apply for Spring. Apply again in Spring if you’re determined to go to Dominican. Good luck!

Nope, I'm a transfer student. Still no updates on my portal and my checklist never went away, unlike others ☹️

One of my closest friends had her checklist removed and was offered a spot to the college but not in the nursing program.  Maybe the checklist not going away is a good thing.  I know how anxious we all are but there does not seem to be an accurate indicator in the portal.  We will have to wait.  If we don't get a call or an offer by Friday I think it will be safe to assume a rejection letter will be in the mail.

Hey I heard back from Robert. We have to reapply again. 
 

“I am sorry that we did not have a spot for you. Sadly you could not go this route as we do not allow in house transfer to the BSN program. You would have to apply for the program separately again.”

I think I have a strange case. I checked my portal several times, but it says I still do not have a decision? This isn't my first time applying here, and I'm wondering if anyone has had the same problem?

Wow that is strange. My portal is still the same ? which I think is an indicator I won’t be admitted.
