I was accepted into a RN BScN and RPN program in Ontario and I've seen so many posts with unhappy nurses
I'm wondering if anyone actually likes being a nurse?

There's always going to be people happy and unhappy about their career for any professions. Some people love being a nurse but dislike their unit or the coworkers which make them seem like they dislike being a nurse. And there are some who hate being a nurse despite their supportive environment.
Are you asking because you're wondering if you want to go into nursing? If so, it just depends on what you think will motivate you to wake up and work every morning/night.
Can I ask are you and RPN or RN and what area or nursing you work in?

Yes I've been wanting to go into nursing since grade school.. I went into other healthcare programs such as ultrasound tech and Respiratory but I was always so interested in what the nurses were doing while on clinical. I felt like that's what I really wanted to be doing.
The nursing profession is quite vast there's probably things you will like about and things you don't. You just got to navigate your way through to figure out what you like about it and stick with it and change the things you don't like about it. You'll probably know if you like nursing after two clinical placements so don't worry about it too much.
Just go for it, it seems like you'll always have the thoughts of "what if" if you don't.
I guess you saw the thread about career change after nursing and I can see why you have some doubts. It's unfortunate that they've been through a lot of tough times but there's going to be up and downs. There's probably some nurses who experienced more ups than downs.

Being knowledgeable, reliable, and astute.. Yes we ALL love that.
Being taken advantage of, dogged, and sometimes verbally abused in our profession.. We all hate that!
It's not always good and it's not always bad. Someone has to have the patience and foresight to see past another's limitations (patients, mgmt, support staff, etc.) and there you have us...

Depends on the day. Some days I love what I do. It can be very rewarding. Some days I turn to my fellow nurses and say what the hell am I doing here.

There are good days and there are bad days-just like in any profession. I don't have any regrets going in to nursing. There are so may different options that even if you don't like something-you can look for other branches of nursing.
A lot of people come here to vent as it is a nursing community. Sometimes it is easier to do this with a bunch of strangers online than our loved ones at home who don't understand nursing-that is the beauty of allnurses!

I've enjoyed the entire 12 years of my nursing career. However, I think if I had to work with adults, rather than pediatrics, I would possibly be one of the many frustrated nurses out there.
