Like an administrator wearing N95 mask. Not PPE but an UC had a new thing of sanitizing wipes to wipe off her desk. The unit doesn't have that anymore, I'm like where she get that?

Just flew into Philadelphia for COVID crisis and the amount of people in the airports wearing N95s is astonishing, the ones that are wearing them properly are few and far between, which is highly frustrating. Then there are all the ones wearing gloves that touch EVERYTHING, then their phone, then their face..... I understand the need to protect oneself as well as those around them but if wearing the PPE improperly the protection and safety equipment is null and void.

I get annoyed with the non-clinical, essential personnel who have somehow managed to convince the powers that be that they have a health issue that requires them to wear a hospital-supplied N-95 (because we are not allowed to bring them from home as of yet-that's coming) and I see them walking through the lobby with the mask under their chin because "they're too hot" to wear.

My governor has mandated that we have to! Not gloves. But “cloth masks.” The GROCERY STORE can now turn me away if I don’t cover my face.

That way here in NJ too.
But DANG! Wear the mask correctly! Or give them to NHs.
Improper wearing of masks jeopardizes me!?

Maybe. The same brand and size that the hospital uses. Maybe she did. Good point.
Is there a N96 a coworker said his ordered mask for Japan was one. I think he was joking? Never heard of a N96

Yes. If people did proper social distancing and stayed home you are less likely to contract COVID-19. Have hand sanitizer ready and use it after you go touching things in public places. People hoarding masks and tossing them after their 30 min grocery trip, politicians tossing them after their 10 min photo op waste more necessary resources for healthcare workers. It's not your 30 min exposure that will kill you, it is the prolonged exposure that healthcare workers face that will kill them.

A 30 minute exposure can most certainly cause infection, illness, and even death.

Anyone else getting fed up seeing used gloves and surgical masks discarded all over the store parking lots by really inconsiderate people who apparently can't bother themselves with the idea that the store employees are already taking all sorts of risks for effectively peanut salaries.

hah - what annoyed me yesterday morning (as I was leaving our COVID + ICU) was seeing our unit secretary wiping off the bottom of her shoes with SaniWipes. I mean, really - there are shortages of these things, and you're using it to wipe off the BOTTOM of your shoes.....

Yes.
I also know that communities have public trash cans and employ essential employees who could be moving them to high use areas and emptying them frequently. Businesses have trash bins that can be moved to areas needed them.
It's reasonable that people didn't think to being a trash bag and didn't want to put the stuff into their car. It's not reasonable to just litter. If even 1/50 tosses it on the ground it's a problem.
I'm am old visiting nurse...I have a "dirty" box in the back of my suv.
