Does age matters,when planing to become RN?

Hi,I'm 36 years old I'm planning to into nursing school. By sometimes I feel I'm a little old.i wonder if they would hired me,by the time I'm done with my RN.PLEASE ADVISE

A nurse I met at the bank was in his early fifties and he said he had no problem getting a job. I think he graduated late 40's, he looked in great shape and didn't look burned out at all. It also depends on the area you are in and how the job market looks. I'm in FL. :). I apply to nursing school after summer semester and I'm 24 and excited.

I feel that way too sometimes. I'm 30 and should be done with school by the time I'm 35... I'll work until I'm 70, so that's like 35 years of living me dream as a nurse instead of wondering "what if". The oldest working nurse is in her 90's!

40 and almost halfway through LPN school. It's not too late to go for it.

I start an ABSN program in a few weeks and I will be 37. I don't feel old at all. Besides we have another 20+ years to work anyway right?

I'll be 52 when I finish my ADN program.

My grandmother got her LPN in her mid 40's - the head MD at the mental hospital she was working as an occupational therapy aide in the 1960's talked her in to doing it.

I expect it might be harder for an older and inexperienced nurse to get hired, but not impossible. I'm working as a CNA in the local university hospital system and at an LTC facility. I expect those will help me with a foot in the door. This may be wishful thinking, but I definitely expect less ageism than one finds in IT or the business world in general.
