I said I wasn't going to dwell on this, but I just can't help it.

I took a test yesterday. I passed it. But.... two of the questions my instructor had on the test we never lectured on nor was it even in our book. One of my classmates, asked her how are we suppose to know about that if we never covered it?

She replied with well, I guess you won't, but now you know what it is for next time. Next time, I thought. A few of my classmates did not pass due to the two questions. I could have gotten an A if these two questions weren't there. UGH! Each question was worth five points. Yes, thats ten points I could of had. Double UGH!

That's 80 instead of 70 for a classmate.

Is she going to do this with every test from now on? Its bad enough I don't like my med/surg. book. Now, I am scared.

Do you guys think this is fair? :o

Hello, Everyone! I just wanted to let you know, several weeks ago I went to register for my Leadership class. The clerk at the registrars office said said "oh your a nurisng student, I need you to sign this form." The form read "Release of Liability." In other words I cannot sue the school - I guess. The clerk told me that I could not register for the class unless I sign this form. A few of my classmates, including myself, did not sign the form. But there were a few who did. They were determined to complete and graduate from this school. After all what they have put us through???

I guess I am out of the program. I will not sign this release of liability form. A few classmates who ascertained the attorney, advised them not to sign it.

I am thinking of switching my career. Are all nursing instructors and administration this way? I was told that they all stick together no matter what. Right or wrong. I guess that is true.

Should of I signed the form? I feel like I have become a stranger after all of this mess. Where did all go wrong?

I keep praying but I am not getting any answer.

:specs:

I guess you didn't see the post about a percentage of pro bono work being required of attorneys by their state bar association. Have you attempted to talk to an attorney? Asking an attorney to take your case costs NOTHING.

4ROM2BRN,

This Instructor is such a jerk! I had one like that at my former nursing college and she rejoiced when students fail. I think they should do a drug test on her because she used to twitch like an Addict. I have to ask God to allow me to find it in myu heart to forgive this instructor. She told lies on me and the Director of Nursing wanted me to sign to the lies and I refused. Now I am happy with my present school because the Instructors are always available to help us with our studies. They are definitely student friendly. I am sure to graduate in 2009. I am very comfortable with my new school.

Are all nursing instructors and administration this way?

The answer is a definite "NO" We recently had an uproar over grading and questions in one of our classes and the faculty was very responsive to our concerns. We didn't get everything we wanted but they are really trying to work with us.

You had a psycho teacher and a corrupt administration. That's not ubiquitous.

Hello, everyone. Sorry, I haven't kept in touch. I have been on a massive scavenger hunt for a nursing program. I will be repeating my second year of nursing in Minnesota . I aunt is starting a new job out there, and I will be staying with her. I got accepted in a community college. Too bad, I just couldn't start where I had left off. But, I am looking forward to a better learning environment. I know quite a few people who graduated, recently from the Minn. community college, therefore, I am confident they are a much better school. I don't think I will encounter the racial slurrs there. I already met with a few instructors, and I was very impressed. The instructors really made me feel like they advocate the students.

In the meantime, I have been practicing my test taking skills, and trying to re-gain my confidence back. It was a nightmare. I left that college feeling insignificant as a human being.

As of right now, my classmates are pursuing with the lawsuit. Others, signed a waiver that they (college) will not be held liable. This form had to be signed in order to continue with the nursing program. Which I refused to sign.

The school is responsible for their professors racial comments, and the falsification of student grades. They have forgotten we have a few of the incidents on tape.

On a happier note, I wanted to touch base, and to say this Puerto Rican has not given up on her dream.

Thanks so much. God Bless you all!:wink2:

That's sure nice to hear.

Well this has been an interesting thread to read and for what it's worth (levity here) 1 ounce of avacado has 180mg of potassium and 1 cup of cooked spinach has 839mg.

Show that to the chancellor/lawyer!

Moved to Mn. I will be starting an EKG class this summer. Ifigured I needed to keep busy before my fall season starts. I have to repeat all of my second year of nursing school. Can you believe that? All because of this crazy instructor who couldn't teach. She is still teaching, as if none of the incidents and filed greivance did not even existed. The vice chancellor, I heard, go a big fat bonus recently. Corruption!

I call this thread as bullcrap, but whatever.

Wow. You don't seem nice. Did you read my posts? How can you be so cruel? I have not yet encountered such negativism from anyone here. Afterall, we have been through??? I just got off the phone with my a few of my classmates and they are still fighting with the school. Are you advocating the school's behavior when you state this is full of crap? I understand the disbelief that this may sound impossible to have happened. But, unfortunately it did.

Its been very painful. I am sorry you feel that way. But its not crap.

Hey hon, I'm sure this person doesn't know what he/she is talking about. We've followed your journey through hell and back and we stick by you! Please don't get offended by what some random person says and don't take it personal. You've shown vulnerability and tremendous courage in the face of adversity! BIG HUGS :icon_hug:

That was not a very nice comment! I am really sorry that all of that happened to you and I don't think that it was "crap" either. I am glad to hear that you will be in a new school and everything seems to be working out for you, even if you have to repeat some work. Good luck!

Hello,

I am not a nurse nor plan to be. I found this thread on a google search. I started reading to find what I was looking for and became hooked.

Holly crap!! I have to know how it ends. It's like reading a book to only find the last few chapters are missing. Any word if the expensive lawyer did any good? Did the tape make it to Youtube, if so can we get a link? Was anyone outside the school agencies notified? ..... I apologies for my interest in your bad situation, but... what a crazy story. I had a similiar situation in my first college, but nowhere near this. My college was just bad instructors with open book test. They where all about money, not education. I few filed lawsuits, I took my dimploma and moved on. I learned very little. I worked in the field a few years and then went back to college. I now am an engineer in a good job. Keep up the hope and good attitude.

Have you started the new college, how is it going?
