It is possible. A decision is made based upon the last X number of questions answered, provided a minimum number of questions have been answered. I saw the specifics somewhere but it was a long time ago. You might see if this is addressed on the NCSBN website.

Yes it is possible to pass if you run out of time and if you do a search I am sure you will find a few members that did pass and they ran out of time

Time, as I found out is an issue with how the computer figure what you are made of. They don't tell you that but they are watching very carefully how fast you answer the questions. If you take your time for each question but you answer 75 reasonably (50% correct) well than you pass. If the computer keep on giving questions way pass 150 towards the end and you still taking your sweet time than you are in trouble.
So it is possible to pass after you time is up but remember they will look at your last 60 questions (sadly is probably your worst performance). I think the secret is to not take more than one minute for each question. Having said that, whenever you get one question right...the computer will go wow...good job. I think the board is trying to find out how quickly and accurately you can react to a emergency situation. There is no time to think too much. I think that time is an issue with the NCLEX but they don't really express that...they just want to see if you can come up on your own.
